PLEASE PURCHASE YOUR TICKETS - WE’RE GETTING A BIT ANXIOUS 😬😩

Each year, we host our annual Furr Ball to raise critical funds for a major project or advancement in our rescue efforts to help more animals. However, in recent years, inflation has made it increasingly difficult to attract the same level of participation. We find ourselves anxiously wondering whether we’ll break even, let alone raise the funds we need to make a difference.

The Furr Ball is similar to a wedding in that we have to pay for a set number of plates, regardless of how many tickets we sell. Currently, we are still short by more than 50 tickets. Please consider attending, and if you plan to join us, we kindly ask that you purchase your tickets as soon as possible/by this Friday.

This year, our goal is to build a separate isolation room. As many of you know, we dealt with two significant hoarding cases this year, which pushed our current isolation room to its limits. We hope to create a dedicated space to handle such cases without affecting other intakes, especially since recovery for hoarded animals can take months.

PLEASE SHARE/PLEASE LIKE/PLEASE COMMENT/PLEASE DONATE‼️

In light of recent devastating natural events, we’re reminded how vulnerable we all can be. We’ve faced weeks without power and water due to natural disasters. Currently, the calls for help from out of state keep coming in. Unfortunately, with adoptions at a standstill and ongoing medical cases piling up, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to take on more. For the past two years, we’ve concentrated primarily on addressing local needs due to the significant rise in cases in our area.

As we reflect, we also question how we would evacuate our livestock in an emergency. Not long ago, severe flooding hit just down the street, and now we’re wondering—does anyone have a lightly used horse or livestock trailer they could donate? It would need to be large enough to evacuate all of the livestock (2 horses, 2 pigs, 2 cows, 4 goats, 1 lamb, and over 20 chickens/ducks and turkeys — all sanctuary animals). We would rely on volunteers to help with all domestic animals.

Lastly, we understand the importance of sharing the impact of these storms, but with Hurricane Milton on the way, posts often go unseen. With just 2.5 weeks until the Furr Ball, our ticket sales are so low that we’d end up in debt rather than raising money to support our ongoing needs.

We desperately need tickets purchased and posts to be shared and engaged on. Unfortunately social media is based on algorithms. The more you share/like and comment, the better chance things can be seen.

PSA: BAD LITTERBOX

i don't usually make posts like this, but this is a truly upsetting topic to me as a lifelong cat owner, so i feel i have a duty to share my knowledge with others.

there is a type of automatic litterbox for cats being sold that is EXTREMELY dangerous and has killed numerous cats through blunt force trauma, suffocation, etc. this litterbox is being sold under different brand names and logos, so i will include the picture of the model and two links to informational videos with more evidence and eloquence than i am able to provide.

please consider not having this type of litterbox in your home for your furry friends. me and my 16 year old tortie, puddy, want the best for all your kitty friends

here are my two video links that provide proof and testimonials of this harmful product:

You've been asking and asking and we have heard!!! From August 26-30 the MSPCA is launching Felineanomenon – a fee-waived adoption event for harder to place cats (AKA BRAT CATS).

And this time, even more shelters across the state are joining us! During this time frame, Berkshire Humane Society, Dakin Humane Society, Thomas J. O’Connor Animal Control & Adoption Center, Worcester Animal Rescue League, Lowell Humane Society, Baypath Humane Society and Animal Protection Center of Southern Massachusetts will all be waiving the fees for our cats that need a little extra TLC.
