Happy Thanksgiving from our farm to yours. ❤️
Our industry comes with a saying- it’s for “people who love work and hate money.” Not the best moto, right? There is truth behind it though. It’s 24/7, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, and the truth is that none of us are in it for a glamorous lifestyle. It can often feel like running on a hamster wheel. There’s another saying “things should slow down next week.” (Hint- it never slows. 😉) It’s easy to get caught up in mental and physical exhaustion. This Thanksgiving season I challenge you to this….
> Listen to the sound of munching hay and take a deep breath.
> Watch a rider light up with joy as they master a maneuver they’ve been working on patiently with their horse.
> Look around at your barn support system- those who offer thanks, jump in to help, ask how you are, ask if you need anything, laugh with you, cry with you…
> Find pride and satisfaction in a clean barn, knowing it’s for an incredible four legged friend and family member to many.
> Go out to the pasture, put your phone down, breathe.
Remember- we don’t have to be in this lifestyle, we get to. Yes, it may not be the most lucrative industry, but it sure is one that teaches you life lessons no school possibly can. It brings you friends who turn into family. It makes you cry happy tears and in the next minute it sure knows how to humble you. It teaches you about yourself, your integrity, your character, your strength, your heart..
If you are fortunate enough to be at a barn or own a horse- please take a moment today (and every day) to give thanks for the opportunity. 🙏
> Did you know that the magnetic field of a horse’s
heart has the incredible ability to affect your own
heart rhythm?
I would not be who I am today without horses, and I would not want it any other way. 😊
Wishing you all a blessed Thanksgiving! 🦃
