A farm full of fun adventures offering an on site venue for BIRTHDAY PARTIES, a mobile PETTING ZOO Orrick Acres started as a small hobby farm in 2013.

In the Spring of 2017 we decided to share our passion and knowledge of horse-back riding with our surrounding area. There was such a huge demand and interest in what we had to offer we are now in the process of adding on to our outdoor riding area, providing more "lesson horses" and expanding to offer a Mobile Petting Zoo as well.

Everyone is happy, warm, and soaking up the sunshine! After shoveling my life away, all the animals now have clear paths from their sheds to their hay and food. You’re welcome, guys!

It’s tough to get many pictures when your phone keeps fogging up from the cold after being in your warm pocket! Everyone’s nice and toasty so far, though. Honestly, I could live outside with my critters when it’s like this… Matt always has to yell at me to come inside! ❄️🤣

✨ Happy New Year from Orrick Acres! ✨

As we start 2025, I want to thank each of you for making 2024 such a wonderful year. God has been so faithful, and I’m excited to welcome both familiar and new faces as we begin another season of petting zoos, lessons, parties, and many other unforgettable events.

(And yes, I’m already praying that I can resist adding to our menagerie—Lord, help me! 🤪)

Here’s to a New Year filled with blessings, the ability to finish so many unfinished projects , and the joy of sharing my love of animals with all of you.

The rescue story of Ariel 🐾

This spring, Ariel, a beautiful Great Pyrenees, came to Orrick Acres Rescue with her goat friends, due to a sad and sudden life change in her previous owner’s life. She arrived timid and shy, unsure of her new surroundings and the people who would soon become her family.

Today, Ariel meets me every morning during chore time, her tail wagging and her face shining. Being able to gain her trust and seeing her excited to see me, is just yet another reminder of why we do what we do.

It’s lives like Ariel’s that we are so grateful to be a part of—offering love and care when circumstances leave owners unable to provide for their animals, whether due to hard, unforeseen life changes that have left owners with no other chance but to surrender or sadly sometimes poor ownership and neglect. I’m beyond thankful we are here for the both the animals AND often the owners who have no other option.

Thank you for supporting us in giving these animals a second chance. 💕

Mr. Herb, one of our Kune Kune boars saw me sitting down and decided to come over for some snuggle time. 🤣 I absolutely love this breed of pigs. You just can’t go wrong. ❤️

Jousting was a new addition to our advanced/intermediate classes this fall. I think students and horses alike did well with the pool noodles.
