The shelter sustained some minor flooding and the fish from the retention pond out back have made their way to our outdoor pens. Our ferals are going to eat well today!
We feel so very fortunate that our area and the shelter were spared. We have some cleaning up to do so we will reopen to the public on Monday.
Our foster named her “Aspen” after the tree as they endure such extreme conditions yet thrive and stand tall and never stop growing.
Just look at her playing and feeling so much better. Thank you Christina! Aspen is so lucky to have you and yours.
It’s not uncommon for us to find dogs or cats left on our doorstep when we arrive in the mornings but this was a first! Albert from Animal Control removed him and has relocated him. We didn’t think we could find a foster for him.
KITTENPALOOZA!
July 10 was National Kitten Day so in the spirit of that celebration we thought we'd share a quick video of our troop having the time of their lives in our cat room. All of these babies need homes so come visit and check out the collection. Remember that during the month of July you can adopt 1 kitten for $75.00 and the second one is only $25.00! 850-670-8417 FC Florida
Athena is a beautiful and very smart 3 yr old Lab mix. She has really nice manners and knows basic commands. This pretty girl gets along well with others and should make a wonderful pet. Just think how nice it would be to adopt a dog with such attributes already in place! 850-670-8417 FC Florida
Kittens!
Just look at these faces! These are just a few of the many kittens we are housing at this time who are waiting for their furrever home. Call 850-670-8417 to make an appointment to come to the shelter and purrrrrruse our kitties!
Howling Hounds
Do you all remember Red Bono (now Redford) the hound who was the King at the Mardi Gras Barkus parade in 2019? He'd arrived at the Franklin County Humane Society with a broken hip and shockingly underweight. But today, he's living the kind of life a King deserves( and with 4 good legs) along with his new Queen Tess who he met on a blind date at the St. Joseph Bay Humane Society. Both are now happy healthy couch potatoes who are totally in love! But like most of us, Redford and Tess are going a little stir crazy sheltering at home so we thought you'd enjoy their latest protest duet while watching yet another corona virus update on TV.
Aussie/Lab puppies
These Aussie/Lab pups will also be in attendance at the Barkus Parade tomorrow and available for adoption. We open the adoption space at 11:00. See you there!
Chiwienie puppies
These Chiwienie puppies will be available for adoption at the Barkus Parade tomorrow in Apalachicola. We will open the adoption space at 11:00 am. You don't want to miss your chance to adopt one of these cuties and the only way to adopt one is to come out to the Parade!
Bella
We are suprised that our sweet, smart and social Miniature Boxer is still here. At only 32 lbs, she is a nice smallish size. Bella is about 5 yrs old, likes other dogs and loves people. Come meet this cutie! 850-670-8417 FC Florida
