💔Heartbreaking💔
Rest Easy Ethan 😭
After having a horrible chained life, then a few months at DACC, then foster for 17 months.. he was given only 15 months of the most perfect life.
Camping, parades, Santa’s little helper, nursing home visits, church functions, road trips, hotel stays.

His dad Jim took him everywhere, because he was the most perfect boy.
We are glad you were able to experience how dogs are supposed to live, you were just cut WAY to short 💔
We are deeply sorry for your loss Jim 😢
We love you Ethan.

ADOPTED!!!! We are so HAPPY for our sweet Stanford aka Stanny Wanny Wallaby and his new family ❤️
Stanford has been adopted into a wonderful family that is an absolute perfect fit for his needs .
This amazing family has a lot of hands on experience with visually impaired dogs . They adopted their previous dog , 🌈Girlie Girl blind and they recently fostered a blind and deaf pit bull puppy🩷

In addition, they are deeply rooted in the advocacy of all animals , volunteering at high risk shelters, caring for community cats and are passionate about educating the world on the importance of spay/neuter and adopt not shop.

Thank you to the entire Tyler family for opening your heart and home to a misfit 🏡🩷 And for all you to do advocate !!

On Christmas Eve we received a call from a family that was truly desperate to save their dog, they were crying so hard I could barely understand what was going on.

😢She became very sick and it was looking like thousands and thousands of dollars to even try and save her, though the outcome still was not good if they did try.

They made the devastating decision, on Christmas Eve, to let her go to end suffering.
I asked if they could afford her cremation so they could have her cremains and paw print. They had some, just not all.

Misfits helped them bring her home.

🖤It’s nice to hear when someone appreciates your efforts, even when it’s not the outcome that you wanted or expected.

This is just one of the many, many behind the scene situations that you dont see or hear about.

Hi, I'm Valentina! I may be a bit shy at first, but give me some time and I'll be your playful, curious, and energetic companion. I've had a bit of a rough start, you see, I once had a broken leg, but I've healed and I'm ready to explore! I love to make people laugh with my funny antics, there's never a dull moment with me around. I'm still a puppy, so I have a lot of learning and growing to do. I'm looking for a loving family who can help me become the best dog I can be. Adopting me means giving me a chance to show you all the love and joy I have to offer.

Valentina 6 months old - Pit Mix Puppy

Valentina came to us from Dog Aide with a broken leg and we suspect it was sustained from abuse at the hands of her previous owners . Not the best way to start out in life for any dog !
Because of her injuries , Valentina can be shy at meeting new people, and she will need a strong leader to continue on with her potty training. She is about 80% of the way there . A puppy with a rough start , broken leg and a cold winter was not the best combination for training , but we know she will get there.

Okay now on to the fun stuff -
Valentina loves to play with her toys 🎾🧸 🦴, running around and being a big goof!
She enjoys the company of other dogs and ✅She will require another dog companion in the home . 🐕‍🦺
She is also good with cats and puppy savvy kids . 🐈
She is an energetic puppy with a big heart , she just needs a family that will understand her past and that she is a work in progress .

Ethel is a 5yr old lady around 52lbs, but you wouldn't know it with her pint-sized physique 🐾 She was pulled from as a shut down, scared, shy girl...& has really come out of her shell since being in a foster home. She's now full of wiggles & s***k (& Bulldog stubbornness) 😉

Hello everyone ! I'm Topaz, your soon-to-be best friend. I didn’t have the best start in life 🥺 I was found by DACC so emaciated that I couldn’t walk . Luckily for me , a very nice lady took me into her home and she calls me her foster . I don’t know what that means but I do know that I feel so much better because I get food, water and love every single day !!
My days are now filled with boundless energy and curiosity. I love exploring new toys, sniffing out hidden treats, and playing hide-and-seek with my foster pals. I'm known for my goofy antics which keep everyone laughing. My cuddly side comes out when it's time to wind down. I love snuggling up close and giving friendly kisses . I'm young, but I've got a big heart and I'm eager to share it with a family. Adopting me means endless playtimes, laughter, and love. I promise to fill your life with joy and companionship.

Almost too good, I have to remind her that she did have surgery 6 days ago 😑Drs orders kiddo.
Faygo 🥤 is the happiest girl around 🙂 she has been through it all.

Happy happy fam here for their new family member!
New mom knew he was the one the minute we posted him as pulled from . He had to stay in so we could learn more about him since he had some rough shelter notes.. turns out he was terrified of the shelter and really is a great, happy guy!
Not many dogs can go to a home with another dog, chickens, cats and a bird!
He’s doing wonderful! Thank you for adopting a Misfit into your family! 🐾

💛Jay loves adventures💛
Yesterday he went for a long ride with Cindy, even braved a car wash💦! He was the most perfect passenger 🚘

Talk about handsome eyeballs 👀 to go with his silly fun personality! He really does love everyone he meets 🤝

Jay is dog 🐶 friendly! He has a rumble tumble play style, so an active friendly dog would be ideal if theres another dog, but not required. He has walked past cats without a care, but has not lived with them.
Has not met kids.

Jay is good on walks, he will bark out of excitement randomly to tell the world that he’s no longer a Detroit chained up dog. 🙂

He’s about 3 years old, starts heartworm treatment this week 😢 but it’s never too early to put in an application! Neutered, current vaccines, microchipped

365 days ….
That is how long Bud has been in foster !

Why you ask? We think Bud suffers from “tan is the new black syndrome”

Black dogs use to be the least adoptable dogs and now it seems to have shifted to tan. 🙄

We don’t understand it because this young energetic, eager to please boy is awesome no matter what color his fur is ..we think he is stunning 😍

🚨We desperately need your help🚨

She deserves a better life!

This beautiful girl is Lola, a 5 year old pit mix that desperately needs a home to call her own 😭
Lola has been living at the vets office in a kennel for over 5 months now .
Why you ask?
Well she was brought in to be euthanized and the veterinarian realized how amazing Lola is and pleaded for an owner surrender instead.
The vet was able to save her life but now
Lola sits day after day in a kennel alone with no outlet to be a dog or to run . Although Lola never complains, we can see it in her eyes that this lonely life is taking a toll on her mental health .

What we know about Lola:

Lola loves walks (is strong on the leash), car rides and her favorite enrichment toy is a wobble treat ball 🎾
She knows all her basic commands, even give both paws… crate trained (though she doesn’t need one) house trained.
Very Dog selective (prefers more calm, quiet, completely non reactive dogs) or NO dogs.
Spayed, current on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, 55 pounds
MUST HAVE FENCED YARD (no need for negative comments or opinions on this)

What we don’t know - 👇
How she is in a home environment with cats or kids under 7.
Lola will need a patient and 👉dedicated 👈family that will love and care for her the rest of her life. She can NOT be failed by humans again.
