About Us
Just a quick note to tell you about us here at Snomoon miniature Pinschers. Our whole family loves animals, we have had them all our lives. We have always had large dogs and used to breed Labradors, Siberian Huskies, Great Pyrenees, Rough Collies…. My daughter has always wanted a “lap dog” that would actually fit in her lap. My husband was always against it, he did not want those “yippy, yappy, ankle biters” in our house. My son came home from work one day and said his co-worker needed to “get rid” of their Miniature Pinscher and real quick because they were moving and his girlfriend was pregnant. So we researched the breed and Cheyanne finally was able to talk Frank into allowing her to get the dog. When we got Meeka she was a little over a year old and had already lived in 5 different homes! I am sure it was NOT her fault because she is the sweetest little dog! Well here the story starts to get interesting….Although Meeka was supposed to be for Cheyanne, she attached herself to Frank!! She quickly became HIS. She wiggled her way into his heart and he was a total loss. Now Cheyanne was upset because the dog that was supposed to be hers was stolen by her dad! So we had to get another one for HER. After months of looking around, we finally found one down in Pennsylvania and I drove down to get him. Next problem was George decided he wanted to be MY dog! Cheyanne still had no lap dog of her own! So searching again after a few more months we finally found one on Long Island. Off on another journey to pick up Bambi. Now as they say...third time's a charm! Cheyanne FINALLY had her lap dog. As the time went on, these little dogs made our lives fuller, they made us laugh so hard we were in tears! People were always asking us about them wherever we went and always where we got them. We had such a hard time finding them so we figured we should start breeding them. More research and studying to figure the best way to go about it and then the testing of the dogs to make sure they were worthy of being bred. After a few breedings we got this idea to start showing them, OH MAN!! Finding a show dog was so much harder than finding the others. Our first “show dog” we went to Delaware to get… Well to make a long story short, he grew, and grew, and grew some more!! He became the “Clifford the big red dog” in Miniature Pinscher version. By 5 months old, he was almost 30 pounds! Definitely NOT show quality. We got him neutered just so he could be a pet. We finally found our boy Rocky and he became a UKC Champion at 9 months old! We have added a lot of quality dogs since Meeka came into our lives and I am very happy with our breeding program but there is ALWAYS room for improvement! I can’t wait for the day when I can say we have our first home bred champion! Let’s hope we can continue for at least a while to come.. Thanks for reading, From all of us here at Snomoon, Regina, Frank, Cheyanne and Tyler.
