As a Combat veteran of the U.S Army and small business owner who absolutely loves hunting and the outdoors, this year I wanted to start a tradition to continue for the future. Taxidermy and the outdoors have helped me make readjustments back to civilian life after 3 tours of combat.
So this year I would like to start a tradition of giving back. For opening week of gun season, 10% of the proceeds on all mounts sold from November 10th- November 16th will be donated to Outdoor Driven Inc which is a Michigan based 501(c)(3) non-profit that gets veterans, police, fire and first responders into the outdoors by taking them on fishing and hunting trips to alleviate the stresses that come with selfless service. If you don’t have a deer to mount but would still like to make a donation through Dunrunnin Taxidermy, you can find me at Clearwater meats opening weekend, I will have a booth set up. SW Michigan guys or gals! I am looking to hire a couple seasonal skinners for about 2 weeks to assist with caping out deer for a taxidermist. It is hard work but I’m willing to train some people not only for this year but hopefully for a few years to come. Great gig for the outdoorsman, great pay, and a fun environment. Dunrunnin Taxidermy and Clear Water Meats are still kicking butt as we wind down the primary gun season….. guess what, we are both still taking your deer!

With the cold temps and corn being cut, check out those active food sources in the evenings and have a plan to cut them off going to the beds in the mornings.

Don’t forget, when you drop off any deer at Clear Water Meats, make sure you get entered into the free mount raffle, that is one heck of a Christmas present to win!

If you or your hunting partners get a prime looking doe, remember you can still get a back skin tanned by me for $125.

Its Gun season eve!!!!
Hopefully everyone's guns are sighted in and snacks are packed for your opening day sits!

Few tips to help things go smoothly for you and your processor this gun season.

Beef, pork and specialty products cost extra......

All hunters must check in up front before they unload their deer around back.

Take a pic of your tag so you have the license number (underlined number) to enter in the book

We do not need confirmation numbers from harvest reporting but do recommend that you follow reporting requirements!

Know how you want your deer cut. Once your cutlist is printed and signed there is no changing it.

Be patient! There will be a line most of the time for drop offs. If you are picking up let us know, we will get right to helping you! Please be nice to our employees everyone will be working extremely long hours to get everyones deer done.

Pick up your deer in a timely manner! We need space to get more deer processed!

We are open for drop offs in gun season 10am-9pm

Closed Thanksgiving as well as the day after Thanksgiving.

Last day to drop off deer is Jan 2nd.

****Free Deer Shoulder Mount****

Once again this year, Dunrunnin Taxidermy is doing a raffle for a free shoulder mount if you have your deer processed by Clear Water Meats. Let Clear Water take care of your meat and get in on this raffle. Last year they processed over 1800 deer, you get one entry per deer processed, so let’s fill up those freezers!

Also, all Dunrunnin Taxidermy clients will be entered into a separate raffle that the winner will be invited with a guest on a guided waterfowl hunt in September 2024.

I’m always open to some great raffle ideas for 2024, let me know what you guys would like to see next season.
