opened a 960 square foot store in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Three years later, Jim Reiman (current store owner) moved to Eau Claire to manage the store. Originally, the core product line included tropical fish along with all their necessary supplies. Parakeets, reptiles and other small animals were added in 1979 with the addition of 540 square feet. To meet the needs of our customer base, the store c

ontinued to grow through the years with the addition of many popular brands of pet food. In 1997, Jim purchased the store he had managed for the past 23 years and formed Tropic Waters Pet Center as a full-line pet store — featuring products and livestock. Since then, the store has continued to grow in response to customer demand. In 2007, Bark Avenue Salon, a pet grooming service was added. In 2008, Tropic Waters Pet Center made it’s biggest change yet. Clairemont, we moved to Hamilton Ave and expanded to 15,000 square feet. Then a short 3 years later the store was moved directly next store into our currently location. Throughout its history, Tropic Waters has proudly been locally owned and operated.

We are absolutely blown away by the amount of love and support we have recieved from everyone. I haven't been able to get through all the comments, the emotions are still very raw, we are just deeply missing our sweet Torq. Jim and I are stepping out for the weekend and will make sure to read every single comment when we return. Love on your pets a little more than usual, take an extra long walk, and spoil them with a few more treats this weekend in memory of our boy. Also, please be extra kind to our staff, they all loved Torq so much and they picked up a lot of slack for us over this last week, we are so blessed. ❤️

It’s with heavy hearts that we share, we said our final goodbyes to our precious Torq yesterday. Our sweet, handsome, loving beautiful boy is gone. He brought so much joy and love into our lives every day, and we are beyond grateful for the time we had with him. From his big bark to his endless love for belly rubs, he made an unforgettable impact not only on us but on everyone who came to the store. We’ll miss him dearly, but we take comfort in knowing he was loved by so many. This one is going to take some time, and the store doesn't feel the same with out him. Rest easy, Torq. We love you endlessly ❤🐾
