Cupcake loves to have the kitchen sink turned on during our visits. She has a fountain too, but the sink is still her favorite! I love being able to keep your cats comfy with all their unique routines. 😊

This weekend I delivered the last of the cat litter from our cat litter drive for the holidays! Thank you to everyone who donated!!! YOU ARE AMAZING! We donated a total of 23 bags of litter totaling 761 pounds! Thanks for giving back to kitties in need at the Eau Claire Humane Association. You all rock!

Toy restock! Your cats love the Yeoww brand toys so much that they wear them out during their playtimes with me. I always strive to keep the toybag fresh and fun for your cat! They all know and love the red bag filled with goodies.

Way to go everyone! We hit our goal of donating 20 bags of cat litter to the Eau Claire Community Humane Association before my January 1st deadline! Wahoo! So far you have collectively donated 20 bags totaling 729 pounds of litter! I have already delivered one load to the shelter and will make another delivery the first weekend in January. So if you haven't gotten your donation turned in to me there is still time. Thank you to all of you who donated to help some kitties in need!

Update! We have had 13 bags of litter donated to our holiday cat litter drive for the Eau Claire Community Humane Association! I am making my first delivery to the shelter today! I will make more as more bags arrive... In total we have already gifted 540 pounds of litter! Way to go! Still want to donate? I'm picking up your donations through Jan 1st!

I had another new client consultation tonight. I love consultations! They are where I get to relieve the fears of cat lovers. It is so hard to find a reliable cat sitter who will treat your kitty like family. I love seeing the looks of relief spread across clients' faces as we get to know each other and go over their cat's care routines. Tonight, as I was leaving, Willie's mom expressed gratitude and said "I am so glad I found you! I have been so worried about who would take care of Willie!" Comments like these remind me just how needed KatStay really is.

These photos may not look like much, but they tell a story of trust building. Seddari, Zephie, and Hypatia are new clients and very, very shy. They never came out to see me during our consultation, so I knew they would be shy during the reservation. We also had the challenge of the entire first floor being under construction! The first day they all hid under the futon but I just sat quietly in the same room as them, offered them toys, and of course treats😉. You can't force an close interaction with shy cats.. it just doesn't work. You have to be patient and let them decide you are worthy of a close interaction. By the end of their short reservation Seddari the calico had decided I was a good person to get some pets from and Zephie (orange and white) was able to comfortably sit with me in the same room and not run every time I came into the room he was in. Even Hypatia(tortie), the most timid of them all, sat out on the cat tree and even sat with me in the living room. Her parents had said I might not see her at all, so I considered this a win! Not every cat is going to run to greet a new person. This is another reason I created KatStay... Cats deserve a cat person who understands them. They deserve a person who will spend extra time building trust with them. KatStay is always more than feeding your cat and scooping their box ..it's about building a relationship with your cat so they can be happy and confident when you are away from home.

I have cared for so many cats over the years, but none has been as cuddly as Dorothy. From the time I walk in the door until the time I leave, she wants to sit on my lap (or shoulder). I honestly wasn't sure what to expect from her as her mom had explained that she had come from a hoarding situation and had been in the shelter for way longer than any cat should have to. I was worried she might take several reservations to build trust with me.. but nope! She was like, ah I see you are here to love me. Now sit down and let's cuddle!
