I think kitty is a little too trusting. But luckily Ginger is the sweetest donkey ever 😍

This guy has been running loose for a week. He seems well taken care of other than the fact that he still is intact and is running at large

Has been running around a very busy street. Employees of a business nearby were able to capture him today.

Anybody know this guy?

This dog was found in Dorchester, WI near the River Country Coop. Male. Wearing a brown collar. Please contact the shelter at 715-965-6711 to claim. The dog is not at the shelter.

Rainy day, so naturally it was our scheduled farrier day 🌧️

Our newest littles got some much needed work on their feet. Spud has white line disease. And Ginger’s feet are just wonky. But now that they will be getting consistent farrier care we should be able to get things turned around.

Both did amazing by the way. Perfect little donks 🫏

The goats moved to their pasture for the summer. We had to put up new fencing to separate Herman and Sugar since they are very rude to the rest.

And the sheep moved to the back of the barn with their new runout area. We have to put up more fencing for them so they have grass but we got rained out, again.

The sheep got rid of their wool coats last weekend! We tried ourselves a few weeks ago, but turns out shearing is way harder than YouTube makes it look 😬😆
So we found someone that actually knows what they are doing.

They are so little under all that wool 🤣

BARN HOMES NEEDED!!

A few weeks ago, we were contacted by a woman whose father had been taking care of cats in his shop, but he has Alzheimer’s and is not going to be able to continue caring for the cats.

All of the cats are now fixed and have their vaccines so we are trying to find them homes ASAP. Her dad recently had surgery and unfortunately, things have really gone downhill. And there is nobody else to consistently care for the cats.

There are a few moms with kittens that we took out initially, and all of those moms have become very friendly, even though they were quite skittish at first. So it’s entirely possible some of these other guys will come around as well. However, we do not have enough foster homes to place all of these cats in to give them time to become comfortable with people.

So if you have a barn or shop that you would like some rodent control and you’re willing to keep them contained for at least two weeks before letting them out, and continue to provide food and water for them after they are let out, please let us know. If we could send them out in at least sets of two or more that would be ideal. But if we have to send them out as singles, it’s better than the alternative

Yesterday we picked up these two little cuties. Ginger is the brown one and Spud is the little gray one. They are both 22 years old and have lived together their whole lives.

Spud has Cushing’s. He was just gelded two weeks ago so he is still recovering from that.

Ginger has foundered multiple times in the past, and as you can see, she’s a little pudgy.

They have been living together, but parallel for many years because of Ginger cannot get pregnant. Her feet would not be able to handle the added weight of carrying a baby. So for now, they are still separated for at least another two weeks, possibly three just to be on the safe side. Spud could technically still get her pregnant for a little while after being gelded.

They are both very sweet and love attention.

Barney update!

He’s been gaining weight nicely and moved next door to the herd he will be joining (hopefully by the end of the week)

It has taken 50 pounds of hay pellets and 16 pounds of grain each day divided up into four separate feedings. Hopefully once he is back up to weight it will be easier to maintain, but he started out with a pretty good deficit.
