We are getting ready to go to the Dalmatian Club of America (DCA) National Specialty in Virginia Beach this year. Lots of training and preparation to get to this point.
Charger: Is one of the Top 20 Dalmatians in the United States.
Ranked #15 in the breed. So he will be competing in the Top 20 competition. There will be one winner but there will also be a Peoples Choice award. Charger will also be competing in the Best of Breed competition for 2022 at DCA, Scent work, Fast CAT's, Novice Obedience and Rally Novice.
Trixie who had puppies this past year will also be competing in the Best of Breed competition, Scent work, Fast CAT's, Obedience, Rally Intermediate and Agility.
Grandma Moxie at 10 years young will be competing in the Veterans class, Novice scent work (which is her favorite) and Novice Obedience.
Mochi: our 6 month old, new kid on the block, will be competing in Conformation-Futurity, Sweepstakes and the 6-9 month Bred By Exhibitor class.
Along with our National Specialty during the same week, will be two regional club competitions held by Greater Washington Dalmatian Club and Delaware Valley Dalmatian Club. so multiply our entries times 3 shows.
A lot of work and training goes into a show dog and getting to compete at the National competition level. Studying of pedigrees, health testing, studying the lines and what they produce, finding out possible health problems in another line and making decisions that will produce the best possible dog. If your dogs pedigree has Champion (CH) or Grand Champion (GCH) in it be proud.
If in your dogs pedigree you see initials at the end of their name that signifies training in Obedience (CD, CDX), Rally-another form of obedience(RN, RI), Coursing (CA), or Fast CAT (BCAT) you can be certain a lot of time, work, energy, tears and joy went into obtaining the titles.
Appreciate the time your breeder puts into developing a well bred well trained, well socialized dog and BE PROUD!!
Here are a few pictures of our Stagecoach Dals doing what they love. I hope you enjoy.
