Welcome To Morning Star Ranch

Owned and operated By : Megan Moats & her son

Morning Star Ranch was founded off of the name of my first pony as a child. My mother would say I was born with the love of horses running in my veins much to her dismay. I received my first pony on my third birthday, her name was Star a small little Shetland pony with a big heart. Star was only two years old when I got her, but she was a gentle soul. She thought me the basics of caring for a horse and I lavished every minute of it. From learning to groom her to riding and giving her treats, I loved every minute of it and so did she. But things change and it came time for us to part ways she was sold and we moved away. As time passed I would always think of her and always longed to have another horse of my own. We finally moved back to were I was able to have a horse. and quickly feel in love with a mare that belong to my neighbor. By the grace of God I found myself working of a big beautiful APHA mare ‘Lynx 2 Colour’ from my loving neighbor. I work for one full year at the age of fifteen as payment toward my Heart horse. Needless to say I was in horse heaven. I shared many great years with her and we grew and extremely close bond with one another. But tragedy stuck and she became ill and I had so say good bye to my best friend. During that time I acquired two miniature horses and quickly fell in love with the breed. One of the miniature I still own to this day. Along with my love of horse, my son has also developed the interest and love of the equine species. With hope and a lot of determination I know that One day our little ranch will work to leave its mark on the miniature horse industry and help to better the breed and preserve the bloodlines of some of the greats. I still think of my first little pony to this day and thank her for all that she thought me.
