Such an incredible group of dogs displaying a long down in our Outdoor Urban Dog class this week!
Since Muzzles have been hot topic lately, here is a wonderful video of Board & Train Tyr enjoying his training session with his new Leesburg Muzzle. This is only day two of muzzle introduction and this boy is thriving and really enjoying his muzzle!
It’s important when training a dog to wear a muzzle to take it slow and on their terms to help them learn the muzzle is a lot of fun and nothing scary or forceful.
We never want the dog to think they can remove the muzzle by pawing it or rubbing it against things, so taking this time to desensitize helps them learn to be confident while wearing it.
Bellamy is loving our evening Fetch sessions! The ball is never free and he loves to work hard to earn his toy. 🐾
Trying something a little different!
Here is some snips from Denver’s training outing last week! 🐾🥰
16 weeks old
Bellamy working hard on his manners! We went all over town yesterday and ended it with a visit to our local Arrow Lumber in Orting, Washington!
Our Advanced Obedience Class is working hard, here is a small clip of one of the heeling exercises with some hard temptations! This class is full of high toy drive pups as well as high food drive. On the floor is a verity of super fun toys, chews (yak chews and bully sticks) and bowls of treats! Good work this week!!!
Board and Train Annie rocked her outing today!
Service Dog Ellie is working hard on putting the steps together of her “get snack” command, this command is super beneficial when her handler has a POTS flare and isn’t able to stand up and needs water or salty snacks to help regulate her heart rate and prevent fainting or recover from fainting.
Service Dog in Training Teddy working hard on his item retrievals!
1 Finger Walk Challenge!!!
Board and Train Chinook rocked it today on our quiet walk around the neighborhood, even passed a elderly neighbor and ignored her! Now to get to this point in higher distraction environments!
Let’s see your video walking your dog with ONE Finger!! Share them in the comments!
Board and Train Chinooks has been here about 36 hours and we are seeing huge progress in his manners already!
I have some sad news that’s is not easy to share and I wish the circumstances where different, but I feel those who follow our program closely should know...
Many of you guys have had the privilege of meeting or watching Chester the the Diabetic Alert Golden Retriever go through our Service Dog Training Program.
This morning I received a heart breaking text no trainer wants to receive. Last night Chester unexpectedly passed away 💔🐾
Chester was his handlers rock, her life line and best friend! He’s been by her side through so much over the last 3.5 years. Please keep his handler in your thoughts (and prayer) during this extremely difficult time.
Rest In Peace
Chester

This mornings Training looked a little different.
This morning, we met with two of our Service Dog teams at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport to do a Flight Training. We experienced TSA security, pet relief areas, a super tiny Alaska Airlines plane and a medium size plane out of Alaska Airlines - Portland Int'l Airport (PDX), moving sidewalks, and airport food courts.
The flight attendants we so kind and loved to see legit teams on their flights this morning and even chatted with us a bit about what we were doing today. Both SD Piper and SD Kevin did absolutely amazing and are ready to fly anywhere with their handlers!
Thank you Alaska Airlines, SeaTac Airport and Portland Airport for a wonderful experience today!
Board and Train!
Not every dogs board and train looks the same, some dogs come for foundation and basic manners, others come for behavior problems, others come to fine tune their manners and leash skills and often times we have our service dogs here to work on tasks and public manners.
We have puppy Cozmo here, he is one of our service dog teams and her to work on his manners and tasks, but also working on grooming desensitizing. He has developed a fear of having his feet messed with and also doesn’t appreciate combing, especially if there is a little tough spot that might pull. So we have been working on slowly building his trust when it comes to grooming needs.
Enjoy this video on where we started (just touching and rewarding) and where we are now (dremel on and rubbing the front and backs of his feet)
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
2021 has been such a wonderful year! We welcomed many new students, evaluated dozens of puppies for local breeders, had students graduate from our Service Dog Program, had many join the program, house many board and train pups, puppy raised a few puppies for clients and so much more! You all have kept me so busy (in a good way), and I am so excited for what 2022 has in store!
Enjoy a Timelapse of 2021 🐾
Stay safe and have a Happy New Year!
4.5 month old Service Dog in Training Stella is doing amazing at her rear end awareness “heel” position! This girl is doing so amazing!
Service Dog in Training Xephie rocking his rear ended awareness exercises!!!
Board and Train Piper also got to visit the local Meeker Days, this was a hard test for her but over all she did fantastic! We still got lots of work to do but very pleased with the progress in just a few days
Board and Train Lola had a great outing to the local Meeker Days today. We focused a lot on loose leash walking, leave it, sit for pets and general obedience. She rocked it and everyone loved her!
