Announcing our official non profit arm - Enchantment Equine Rehabilitation Center-Meet EERC’s first rescue! 🤩 🏇

Gathering Evidence, a former champion who gave his all on the racetrack. After years of racing, Gathering Evidence was ready for a well-deserved retirement, instead, he fell into the hands of neglect and starvation. Walking in Circles Rescue (WNCR) was able to rescue him, where he earned the name Phoenix, symbolizing a firebird emerging from the ashes. It took over a year of careful care to bring his body back to a healthy weight, and now it is our turn to turn his recovery into rehabilitation. Although Pheonix is our first racehorse to enter the Enchantment Equine Rhablitation Center program, we know he will be one of many we will help.

Gathering Evidence, barn name Phoenix. This is our flagship horse for the creation of Enchantment Equine Rehab Center a 501c3 dedicated to rescuing, rehabbing and rehoming New Mexico’s racing Quarter horse and Thoroughbred race horses.

After 32 career starts, 10 yr old Phoenix was found abandoned at a number 2 body score. Walking in Circles took him in and healed his body, now we are ready to heal his soul. We are working on getting him sound and ready for his second career as a trusted trail partner. Join us in Phoenix’s journey. Our website and social media accounts will be up soon.

Weekend barn help needed!

Enchantment Equitreks is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic person to join our team at a small horseback riding vacation ranch.

* Friday-Sunday
* 6 hrs of work (about 4 hrs am and 2 pm)
* Feeding, mucking, and general horse care am and pm.
* Checking on cows, chickens, dogs when needed.
* Riding opportunities available.

Must Have
* 2 years equine care experience.
* Valid drivers license
* Reliable transportation
* Work in all weather conditions

Bonus
* Lives in East mountain area.
* Able to run farm equipment like a small tractor.

Zena was the embodiment of Enchantment Equitreks, having been with us from the beginning.

At the rescue, we discovered her pulling three adult men and the veterinarian around a pen while they tried to give her a shot. Before Mel rode her, even she had doubts about this very opinionated Appaloosa mare. With her forward pace, extraordinary lightness, raptor-like intelligence, and willingness to go anywhere—apart from the water, whether it be a puddle or a river—Zena sparkled under saddle.

Like her name implies, Zena the warrior princess had overcome numerous obstacles. She overcame everything, even kicks from many different horses and a lightning strike. It was evident that we should retire her at the end of the season because she had began to slow down and her nips were becoming bites when saddled. She would, regrettably, be unable to reap the benefits of a life at pasture. She suffered a fractured elbow in a pasture accident, and we felt it was time to release her from her suffering.

So, we bid our herd matriarch farewell with broken hearts. She launched our company and brought in the last client of the season. Zena, we appreciate you being such an amazing part of our lives.

What’s the best way to enjoy the eclipse?

With a trail ride and picnic! We were so fortunate to have our riders here for this once in a life time event and had the perfect view from Golden Open Space.

Did you know that our area here in New Mexico was the perfect spot to see the ring of fire? With an average of 310 days of sunshine, we had excellent weather to see the apex of the eclipse.
