Are you able to handle your dog in any position? Are you able to touch their face, feet, and ears?

All of this plays into proper dog husbandry and management and teaching your dog to relax while being handled can make grooming and veterinarian work a breeze! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Mabel is being trained by Mandy as a Crisis Canine that will assist with on site and emergency services to ground and comfort people in times of stress, shock, and loss. These dogs are so amazing and we're so grateful we got the opportunity to help! ๐Ÿพ

Client dog brag! This is Laura and Ginger's very first lesson where we covered ignoring guests at the door. Ginger has a history of charging, jumping, and over excitement around somebody new coming into the home.

After letting her know that Laura was loaded up with some yummy treats that were passed out only during sitting and we have these results just 20 minutes into our lesson. GREAT JOB to this team and taking the initiative to work so hard on eye contact from the very beginning! Excited to see what the future brings for this duo. ๐Ÿ™Œ

Hershey has been working on polite greetings and after a small break from training for a heat cycle, we hopped back in and she did AMAZING!

Greetings in a small area can cause stress in dogs that are still learning. Practicing scenarios with friends and family can help ease the expectations while we guide the dog through what is now expected of them.

Great work gals! ๐Ÿ‘

Ever watch a dog show competition or a well behaved dog in a show or public setting and wonder why there always looking towards their handler?

Because it's the SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT thing you can do for training with your dog. There's a saying that "where a dog is looking, is where they are thinking". Dogs don't have a subconscious - which means they don't think about the dishes still in the sink, or what is happening this next week, or what to eat for supper. They are very in the moment creatures. So they pour all of the senses and mind into what interests them.

When a dog is distracted or pulling towards another area of the parking lot or towards another dog, a lot of the times we can interrupt that behavior and redirect it back to us and that check in can be a regroup into a wanted behavior - insert Sit command here.

So how do you build up your eye contact value?
Pay the dog when they are doing it! Payment may be a treat, praise, pets, and smile, something that let's the dog know they are in the correct job. Sometimes I grasp the dogs attention by saying their name, or making a kiss noise. Sometimes I have a dog that doesn't know how to look at me and has never communicated with a human via eye contact before, those usually involve taking a treat to their nose and then moving that treat towards my face and rewarding every single attempt that is made towards looking at me.

Once you can get the dog to look at you when asked, see if they choose to do it without a prompt, then see if they will do it while in motion, will they look at you through distractions? If you build up the repetition of eye contact equals something good and fun it is very easily given and can lead to a dog that you can communicate with!

Think back to every "bad" or unwanted behavior your dog was doing and ask yourself if they were looking and checking in with you.

๐ŸŒŸ Well, 2025 - Let's Start It Off with a BANG! ๐ŸŒŸ

Wow, what a year 2024 was! We grew by over 400%, met so many incredible people, and are beyond grateful for the support we've received. We wouldn't be where we are today without YOU โ€” our amazing community! Your trust, enthusiasm, and willingness to share your experiences with friends and family mean the world to us.

As we continue to grow (and donโ€™t plan on stopping anytime soon!), we realized it's time to take things to the next level. Weโ€™ve met all of you through something dog-related, and weโ€™ve loved every moment of it. But now, itโ€™s time to shine a spotlight on different areas of our work โ€” from specialized training to the variety of roles dogs can play, and connecting with the diverse styles of customers we serve.

So, after much thought and planning, weโ€™re excited to announce that we're splitting our business into three distinct areas, each with its own dedicated space to keep you updated on what matters most to YOU! ๐Ÿš€

๐Ÿ‘‰ Stay tuned for the links to our new social media pages and websites, where you can follow each of these exciting new ventures. We canโ€™t wait for you to be part of this next chapter with us!
