Jenkins Forever Farm

Jenkins Forever Farm Jenkins Forever Farm is an animal sanctuary in Indiana that provides rescue, care, love and a forever home to farmed and exotic animals.

We also promote a compassionate/vegan lifestyle. In addition to providing care for the over 100 lives that call JFF home, we also assist other organizations in many ways.

- Providing temporary foster care for animals seized by the authorities.
- Providing placement assistance for animals who need a safe, forever home.
- Partner to remove animals from hoarding situations, have them vetted and plac

ed in safe, forever homes. We also focus a lot of our time on public education about adopting, companion care, and compassionate living. As a rescue/sanctuary, we don't support breeding of any kind so we stress the importance of adopting versus shopping to our followers. We also help connect people with other organizations to help them find the perfect new family member! At JFF, we're home to 13 different species who all require different diets and habitats. We share this information so those who already share their home with that species or plan to in the future might learn something new to keep everyone healthy and happy. Lastly, we're always promoting a compassionate lifestyle which includes everything from diet to clothing to cleaning supplies. If you're interested in more information or where to start, send us a message and we'd be happy to help!

Hamilton & Bubba have an interesting relationship and only seem to use each other for warmth.

In the winter, they spend most of their time together and always slept snuggled next to each other. In the warmer months, they’re rarely together and sleep in separate stalls by choice.

I guess they’re just seasonal friends. 😅

Btw, the tail in a previous post belongs to Bubba! 🐷

I wish I could be Ringo. He does whatever he wants and has zero regrets. He doesn’t care that in order to sit there, he has to knock off several items. I have to pickup those items. Every time. He rudely never helps.

At least right now, he’s helping by cleaning the outside of the garage fridge. 😅

📣 Sponsor Opportunity 📣

Olaf has had the most amazing Sponsor since his arrival at JFF just over a year ago and now it’s time to pass the baton. 💗

Olaf was initially rescued by our dear friends at All Species Kinship (A.S.K.). They quite literally saved his life and we’ll forever be grateful to them.

We often get questioned about his species and origin so I thought this would be a great time to re-introduce Olaf to all our supporters.

In short, he’s a miniature deer with fangs, scent glands and a tongue a mile long. 😂

To learn more about Olaf, visit https://animaldiversity.org/accounts/Muntiacus_reevesi/

Due to Olaf’s exotic nature, his diet falls into suit and generally, his cost of care is higher than most of our residents. Last fall, we spent $900 to insulate his building so we could heat it for the winters and this spring, we’re planning to add-on to his outdoor run so he has more space to roam safely.

Olaf’s sponsorship is $50/month and helps cover all the costs listed above and more to provide the best care we can for him.

If you’re interested in being his Sponsor, please comment or send us a message for more info. 🙏❤️

The hard days are almost always followed up by times like these. Holstein stopped for a second, amid all the breakfast chaos, to let me know how much he loves me. I sometimes wonder if the residents know how deep my love for them is. Moments like this remind me that they do.

I also truly appreciate all the outpouring of love and support during our time of loss. It’s never easy but it sure makes my heart happy to see how many of you love these babies too! 💗

Yesterday, we lost Freckles suddenly. Sadly, because birds are prey, they are very good at hiding illnesses and often don’t show signs until it’s too late. Freckles didn’t even show any signs though. He ate dinner with his four hen friends per usual and got everyone tucked into bed Tuesday night, but when I went out to feed & water, only the girls had come out of the coop. My heart sank as I knew something wasn’t right. 💔

Freckles joined us in the summer of 2019 as a young roo. He came with Rooty, who was just a tiny piglet at the time. They were bonded and slept together for a couple months. Once they started to grow, we knew Freckles needed to be part of flock. As he transitioned and met knew friends, he spent a lot of time roosting on my shoulder and putting his butt in my face which was his favorite. 😅 He had a lot of attitude and was even the model for one of our t-shirt designs due to his no nonsense facial expressions.

One of my favorite parts about Freckles was how vocal he was. Even though we’re home to four other roosters, no one crows quite like he did. It’s sure been quiet. We’ll miss you buddy. ❤️

I’m exhausted and so tired of this dang snow but these silly babies keep me going. I was taking pics of them in the snow & poor guy thought I had a treat, so of course, I immediately went & got him one. 💗

I’m glad someone is enjoying this new snow! ❄️😩😂

Update: It’s just Oakley in there. She does not like other piggies in her space so we make sure she’s got lots of straw & her favorite sleeping bag. 🥰

How many piggies in here? 🐽
