BELLA HAS BEEN ADOPTED.

Pretty Bella, Bella is 4 months old and crate and potty trained. Bella loves everyone. Bella gets along with dogs and does not bother the cats. Bella is looking for a family that'll dedicate time to her socialization, training, and take her on adventures.... socialization is key for her future success! She would do well with older dog-savvy kids that understand puppy mouthiness and antics. Bella would love a home with other dogs (must be spayed/neutered), as long as they are active and respectful of her young age. Puppy training is required upon adoption. All of us here at Garden State German Shepherd Rescue are truly grateful to everyone who supports our mission. Since 2003, we have saved so many lives. We owe our successes to the people that donate to us, our fosters, our vets, and, our adopters. Although these last few years have been difficult, we are so thankful for those that have opened their heart and home to make a difference in a homeless dog's life. Make a difference in a homeless animals life by visiting a shelter.

Garden State German Shepherd Rescue along with 2 other German Shepherd Rescues has been busy securing homes for many dogs. It takes a village and many dogs have been adopted and on their way to a new life.

We have 3 pups looking for their forever homes.

Oliver-Liver color. Oliver (male) 4 months old. (Medium energy) Oliver has been in a foster home and we can officially say he is healthy after couple of rounds of meds for parasites.
Since being in foster home we've learned Oliver absolutely loves other dogs so his future home ideally needs to have another dog preferably female . He'd do best with a mellow dog that understands puppy antics and that won't bully him or push him around. He is potty trained. Socialization if very important for this boy. Kids over 12

Maya-female (3.5 months old). Maya has a independent streak and wants to do what she wants to do. She would benefit also from being with another dog. (preferably a male)

Otis-male (3.5 months old) Otis is great with other dogs and cats. He is a very sweet boy. He would do well in home with other dogs.
Otis is also potty trained.

All the dogs above are doing amazing in their foster homes that has been working on socialization, but continued exposure and socializing (and training!!) is required for their future success. GSD experience preferred for all pups.

To adopt you will be required to do puppy training classes.

Double Trouble!🥰

Hunter (12 weeks) & Clark (9 weeks) (Dogs will be adopted out separately)
Hunter and Clark are dog friendly, and love to romp with the big dogs! They have lots of attitude, but like all pups, can still be a bit timid with new environments/situations.
Since Hunter & Clark has been in foster, we've learned they can run with the big dogs. They absolutely love other dogs so their future home ideally should have 1 dog over 60lbs for them to grow with. They also will do best with a mellow dog(s) that understands puppy antics and that won't bully them or push them around due to their size/age. Both dogs love to exercise and run around, a fenced in large yard is preferred for them. They have had no exposure to cats. Both would do well with dog-savvy kids that understand puppy teeth and are respectful to dogs.
They are healthy, dewormed, and had age-appropriate vaccines; they will be required to be spayed/neutered. They have been in a amazing foster home that has been working on socialization, but continued exposure and socializing (and training!!) is required for his future success. GSD experience preferred for all pups.

Welcome Oliver!
Oliver is a 4 month old male pup that didn't get a good start to life. Oliver loves other dogs and people. Super cuddly! He is not sure of the outside world so he will have to be socialized. What a great time of year to do that! Oliver is a full breed liver and tan German Shepherd. We are not sure about Oliver and cats. A home with a respectful female dog would be ideal for this handsome boy.

Update: Kuta has been adopted!!

Dear future family, it's me Kuta. My original family abandoned me with a note saying I was the bestest boy... But I'm starting to think maybe people don't think so.... Even without meeting me 🥺 Or is it the fact my ears aren't perfectly stick-up? I think they reflect my puppy-like personality! I've heard of 'Black Dog Sydrome' but is that really true? I'm still looking for my furever home that'll give me a chance to show you that I'm the GOODEST boy ever!

I'm good with kids, love toys, and have never met a stranger! Even the Vet staff LOVES me! I'm healthy and only a little over 1 year old. I'd love to be your one and only, but I think I'd be cool with a female sibling (large breed) that can deal with my puppy antics. I'm pretty much just an overgrown pup.... But unlike puppies, I'm already housebroken AND crate trained!! (Small dogs and kitties aren't really my friends though, sorry!)

I'd love to do training and I'm very active. Let's go hiking! I promise I'll be your best friend. Reach out and say you want to adopt KUTA!

Today we remember the tragic events of 9/11/2001. We remember the lives lost, the devastation, the shock and sadness we experienced that day.

We also remember both the human and canine heroes that came together, running in the direction of Ground Zero. Many today, are still affected by the results of their heroic actions. Over 300 dogs participated in search and rescue, therapy, police work, recovery, and comfort. Although the last known SAR canine passed away in 2016, we remember their efforts today and everyday.

Today is a day we mourn but also, from the ashes, we celebrate growth and unification.

🎉Happy 1st birthday, Sage!!🥳
Her birthday wish is to find a furever home... And for her fellow GSGSR dogs to find theirs too.

Sage is a beautiful white Shepherd, with sparkling white teeth to match. She is approximately 60lbs-- she is petite in stature. She prefers the company of female humans, but will warm up to men in time as well. She is skittish when meeting new people and will require a home that is patient, willing to work with her on confidence building, and a family that'll understand her needs. She would do best in a GSD-savvy home, preferably those that have owned white shepherds (as many have a different more skittish personality than GSDs of other colouration.) A home that will make training a priority to work with her and give her time to trust is imperative. Although she does well in doggy daycare and on dog playdates, she prefers to live as a solo dog within the home..but we would be willing to consider a home with a submissive neutered male only. No other female dogs in the home and no cats or small animals.

Due to Sage’s skittish behavior she would do best in a quieter home, and she would do best with teenagers or older. She is housebroken, knows basic commands and is fully vaccinated. She has an appointment to be spayed. A fenced in yard is required for Sage.

Consider Kuta, Sage or Hunter!

💙Kuta- 1.5 years old and 85lbs! He is super smart, has tons of energy and extremely ball driven! He would love an active family who will play with him all day long, continue to socialize him, and make training a priority for him. He is good with dog savvy kids, and large dogs (female preferred), no small dogs or cats for this guy. He is UTD, neutered, crate trained and house trained. Secure fence preferred as he has figured out to open the gates.

A home with dog-savvy teenagers or above would be the best fit for this active, large boy....and a home with a fenced in private yard. Hunter is UTD, neutered, housebroken and crate trained. Prior GSD experience required.

💙🐾Adoptable: KUTA🐾💙

Kuta is an energetic 1.5 year old all-black GSD that was saved by local law enforcement; he also has the cutest ears! He was found with a note around his neck saying how he's the goodest boy but they can no longer care for him. He is now looking for a new, loving home to call his 'furever'!

Kuta is large, friendly, and acts like a typical big puppy. He is still learning boundaries and manners (he is jumpy!) but he is eager to please and happy to be around his people. He loves his toys, especially a ball, and would love to play endless games of fetch. He would make a great hiking partner in an active family or even someone that wants to do dog sports. Did we mention he's got the cutest slightly flopped ears??

Kuta has lots of energy to burn and would do well in an active home, dedicated to his training. An absolutely amazing foster took him in and since he's been in foster, he's been exposed to both children and other dogs. He did well with large dogs (female active dog preferred) and would do well with dog-savvy older kids, as he is a big boy and doesn't know his size yet. Please no small dogs or cats for this boy. He is housebroken and crate trained. He is up to date on vaccines and recently neutered.
