FORREST UPDATE:
Hello to all my wonderful followers!

I hope you all enjoyed the summer as much as I did—but now fall is
upon us. My pool is closed up for the season, and it's time for me to focus on my next big step: my hip surgery.

Yesterday, I visited the kind and gentle Dr. Davis at Red Bank Animal Hospital. I leaned in close and whispered in my foster mom’s ear that I felt really comfortable with Dr. Davis. She smiled, patted me on the head, scooped me into her arms, and whispered back, “Forrest, if you’re comfortable, then Dr. Davis will do your surgery.”

Thank you all for following my journey. I’ll be sure to post another update soon with a new photo.

Hi, I’m Daphne!

I'm a 4-month-old female puppy looking for my forever home. I absolutely love to play — chasing balls and bringing them back is one of my favorite things to do!

I’m crate trained, housebroken, and already know some basic commands.

I’m still learning about the world and would really benefit from a neutered male doggie, big brother, who can help me build my confidence and show me the ropes.

Older children, that understand puppy behavior and can assist in my training, would be great. I am a baby myself and will need my human to concentrate on my needs and training. Attending training class is one of my requirements.

Short term-Temporary Foster Needed for 4-Month-Old Female Puppy

We’re seeking an immediate temporary foster home for a sweet 4-month-old female puppy while GSGSR reviews adoption applications.

✅ You must include phone numbers for your references including your veterinarian and one reference should be a neighbor.

✅ If you do not have an Application number and didn’t apply, please do not Facebook message us as we are a small group of rescuers and want to find this pup a great home and so need all information that the application includes

📌 Important Requirements:

We are not offering a foster-to-adopt option for this puppy . she needs a temporary foster that does not plan on adopting the puppy.

If you want to adopt then submit an adoption application at GSGSR.org.
Only applicants with completed adoption or foster applications will be contacted — we’re a small team and need to prioritize interviews.

The puppy needs someone who is home most of the day. She shouldn’t be left alone for more than 1–2 hours at a time.

Adopters must have the time, energy, strength and commitment to train, play, run, and walk a young pup. She’s a great dog but young and needs to get out and socialize, NOT dog parks but family and friends' homes, local stores….

A meet and greet with all family members and current pets is required before any adoption decision.

Hi everyone, thank you to those that already donated. I wrote a private message to each of you.

I need Juvenile P***c Symphysiodesis (JPS) surgery to enable me to walk correctly and maybe even run. My foster mom contacted several surgeons, but I would like to know if there are any that she might not have found (in NJ).

If you know of any doctors that perform this surgery can you please send me their names.

UPDATE: Apollo went to his long term foster home tonight. Thank you all for supporting Apollo on his journey. Thank you to all those that volunteered to foster Apollo there will always be more dogs in need so please send in your adoption applications.

Apollo was moved quickly, due to his owner's deployment. GSGSR placed him into a temporary foster home. He needs a longer-term foster home:

Some things we learned, about Apollo, in the last few days:

He just turned a year old, he is a baby, a puppy, just learning about the world.

Apollo was crated many hours a day, he will escape a wire crate, so GSGSR has an escape proof crate for him and any other supplies needed.

He needs a confident pack leader (maybe even an alpha female dog) that can work his obedience training, he knows his name and knows the word 'sit'. He goes through doorways nicely. He is housebroken but as we all know dogs need to learn where the door to outside is, so he needs a few days to acclimate to that.

GSGSR will set up and pay for neuter while he is in a more permanent situation. ..............................................................................................................................

Apollo just arrived; he is safe with his temporary GSGSR foster family. His owner was deployed and we reacted quickly. We wish his owner safe travels in his service to our county.

Poor little Forrest. His pool is being closed for the summer. His foster mom and Forrest are hoping someone might volunteer some pool time or water therapy to keep his strength and spirits high. Please share
