Urgent Pet Care Center is a locally and privately owned business that has roots in the Oklahoma City metro area. Our experience has allowed us to build relationships with your primary care veterinarian so that we can bring the best possible care to your 4-legged family member. As an Urgent Care facility, we aim to fill a needed service between your primary care veterinarian and the Emergency/Specialty Referral facility.

Meet Arlo 😍 this striking boy came to see us for tummy troubles. When he stopped wanting to play, his mom knew it was time for a check up. 🙁

Arlo was a fantastic patient for his blood draw and x-rays which thankfully didn't reveal anything too concerning.

We were able to help Arlo with outpatient treatment of fluids and anti-nausea medications. We hope he was able to get back to his playful self as soon as possible. 🐱🐾

Thank you for trusting us with his care, he was a wonderful patient! 💛

Smush face alert ‼️
This is Bo. You're probably wondering how he ended up here. Bo had a case of the zoomies 💨 that ended in him colliding with a doorway. He was just trying to show off how speedy 🏃‍♂️ he could be but unfortunately his eye was bumped in the collision.
We got him fixed up with eye drops to help him feel better as quickly as possibly. We hope he was able to get back to his regularly scheduled zoom asap.

This is Lily, a sweet old lady who came to see us for an upset tummy. Doesn't she look great for being 15!? 🤗

After running a few lab tests 🧪 we found out she needed antibiotics for a bladder infection 💊 along with hydration and anti-nausea medication to get her feeling back to her spunky self again.

She was a trooper through her entire visit! 🥰 Thank you for trusting us to care for her when she wasn't feeling well.

🐶🐱If your pet isn't feeling well and needs to be seen, give us a call or walk in. We have convenient evening and weekend hours. No appointment needed!

🐶❤️Meet Bella! This super sweet Cavapoo came to see us when she had complications with her incision after her spay procedure.

After a light sedation, we were able to fix her up with some new stitches and send her home with strict instructions for lots of cuddles so she could heal quickly. 🩹

After 10 days we were able to remove her stiches and she is as good as new! 🥰

🐾Thank you for trusting us with her care, she was such a joy to see!

These symptoms can be caused by various issues, from dietary indiscretion (like sneaking table scraps!) to infections and toxin ingestion. Persistent vomiting or diarrhea can lead to dehydration, so don’t hesitate to bring your pet in for an evaluation.

🐾 Ingestion of Toxins or Foreign Objects
Curious pets love to get into things they shouldn’t! Unfortunately, this can lead them to swallow things like chocolate, plants, small toys, or other foreign objects that may be harmful. If you think your pet has ingested something they shouldn’t have, prompt treatment is key.

🐾 Lameness or Pain

🧡🖤 Happy Howl-o-ween! This time of year is a treat for us but it can turn into a tricky time for your pet.

🍫 Chocolate ingestion (especially dark or baking chocolate). It is toxic to dogs and cats. Even small amounts can be cause for concern. It can cause gastrointestinal issues, restlessness, cardiac arrhythmias and seizures.

🍭 Xylitol poisoning- Xylitol (also called birch sugar) is an artificial sweetener commonly found in sugar-free gum and candies. It can lead to dangerous drops in blood sugar and lead to liver failure.

🍬Choking and blockages- wrappers and hard candies can cause choking. Larger amounts can lead to intestinal blockages that could require surgery.

Ms. Minnie came to UPCC for evaluation after potentially ingesting small magnets the day before. Radiographs revealed 3 small magnets that had joined together creating an obstruction in her GI tract. Surgical removal was recommended and the UPCC team coordinated with her owners and the team at Veterinary Emergency Referral Center where surgery and post operative care could be facilitated. 🧲
