Three of our Pony Club members traveled to Kansas City to participate in the Midwest Region’s Quiz Rally! Major congratulations to Alex, Hannah, and Paige for being brave to join teams in another region to further your knowledge, meet other Pony Club members, and have so much fun! This past weekend, Charter Oak PC had the amazing opportunity to get a private tour of the facilities at Oakridge Equine Hospital! What a wonderful chance for them to see how veterinarians care for horses with a wide variety of medical needs. They had such great questions along the way and learned so much!

Special shoutout to Brittany and Margie Amer-Zimmer for making this educational experience possible! Thank you so much!

Charter Oak and The Woodlands Equestrian Center are sponsoring a Pressure Proof Academy clinic on April 6 led by one of Pressure Proof Academy certified coaches, Katie Simpson.
This will be beneficial for riders of all ages as well as parents/coaches who help them to navigate the psychological side of sport (e.g., nerves, focus, confidence).

Some tips for grooming your best equine pal this winter. ❄️🐴🥶

Grooming your horse in the winter takes a little more elbow grease than in summer. The routine and grooming steps are the same, but you must account for longer hair and no option to bathe if it’s too cold where you live. However, there are ways to deep-clean your fuzzy horse in cold weather.

2024 Charter Oak Holiday Hobby Horse Show. These girls demonstrated their skill over courses for equitation over fences, equitation on the flat, hunter handy and jumper courses. Way to go ladies! We had a fun holiday gift exchange too!

Congratulations to Charter Oak members: Paige, Sydney, Annabelle, Heiress, Sophia, and Nathalie who competed at the Fall Finale in Tulsa over the last four days! We had a great showing and a wonderful time! Our riders worked hard, supported each other, worked as a team, and rode their best! We couldn’t be more proud of these superstar horses and riders!

You still have two more weeks of No Stirrup November! (Even though this applies year-round) 🐴🐎

The benefits of riding without stirrups include strong legs, suppleness, and a more secure and independent seat. It’s also good to practice riding without stirrups so that you’ll be prepared in case you lose a stirrup while riding. Charter Oak Pony Club had the coolest experience tonight! Some of our members and their parents got an all-access, backstage tour of the horse races at Re*****on Park and we got to sponsor one of the races! We got to meet some of the many people that make the races possible, be in the sound booth as they called the race, try our hand at being camera operators, see the TV control room, and even sound the bugle call! How cool is that?!

We had a successful rating at the Charter Oak Pony Club today. Congratulations to Sophia (D1 and D2), Hannah (D1), Harper (D 1) and Aubrey (D1) who all passed their certifications both flying colors. Nathalie, Paige and Annabelle offered fantastic support to our testing members. Special thanks to Mel, Tracy and Alison for making the magic happen!
