A small bit of background about her: Angela has also been a high school teacher, a trainer and educator for adult learning in management and hospitality (achieved the Medal of Excellence through City and Guilds of London for our school), she is a qualified Moderator and Assessor. Angela has also achieved a Black Belt in Okinawan Goju Ryo Karate. Angela has been involved with athletes and competitors in human power sports (weightlifting, powerlifting and bodybuilding) for most of her life.

She is a Certified Canine Athlete Specialist, Trainer and Adviser (CCAS), Certified Canine Myofascial Release Therapist and Practitioner (CMFR) and a Professional Member of the International Association of Canine Professionals.

Angela does specialise in sporting and working dogs – in particular, those dogs engaged in impact and protection sports.

Fluffy is our most recent puppy jumpstart B+T graduate! 🎓💖

She came to me a blank slate and left with a great foundation! 🐾

Between confidence building, potty training, crate training, leash manners, basic obedience and that gruesome puppy nipping... She graduated with so many new tools in her toolbox! 🎀

Congratulations are due! 🥁
Walter is a 6 month old German Shepherd & in October, he completed a 2-Week Puppy Jump Start Board & Train Program 🦖

Walter had a hard time doing nothing and was always looking for something to get into! He was a blank slate, was lacking in the socialization department and had NEVER had a bath before coming.

During his stay, Walter learned “the art of doing nothing,” alongside valuable skills like “leave it”, basic obedience and “place.” We had a blast with confidence building too, climbing on anything he could get his paws on! 🐾

Unfortunately towards the end of his board and train he started showing me signs of a fear period, luckily for him he’s got 6 weeks of STAR puppy classes to work through it!

Congratulations Walter 🥳🎉

Can’t wait to watch you grow up and continue working with you and your family.

I’m excited to share I’ll be hosting Angela Ahern from The Biokinetic K9, all the way from Africa🌍, for her elite conditioning and strength training next month. 💪🏽

There’s a reason why so many bite sport competitors are using her. Including but not limited to current world champion Erin O’Shea, Sarah Prelle, Tim cutterson, Joeri Veth, Patricia Knabl... She is hands down the best in the industry. 👏🏽

If you compete in dog sports, you need to know how important this is to your dogs success and to prevent injury‼️I am VERY much an advocate for cooperative care and strength conditioning.

Even if all your dog does is Fast CAT this could be beneficial to you. Long gone are the days of pulling our dogs out of the crate and onto the field.

Her first event has taken place this past weekend, but lucky for you us here in the Midwest, we now have an opportunity that has landed in my lap!

If you’re new here or aren’t sure what’s happened… two doodles were running at large in our community. One hour after catching the doodles, the female doodle started giving birth. She gave birth to 8 sweet puppies last night (3 males & 5 females). We still have not had anyone come forward to claim either doodle.

The male doodle had a microchip that seems to have been bought by a breeder and was not registered. We have tried everything to get any type of information about the microchip but have not had any luck. The female doodle did not have a microchip.

Both doodles were first spotted together by the dumpsters behind our building Wed PM. We are working with all the surrounding businesses who are looking at their camera footage for any evidence of dumping/neglect. All the puppies, mama, and the male doodle are doing great!

KK’s and I have decided to partner and take on all the dogs. We both have a lot of experience and education so they are all in good hands. We will be setting up a GoFundMe and an Amazon Wish List. We also will most likely need a foster/adopters for all the dogs.

Both mama and the male doodle will have to be spayed/neutered before we adopt them out. We also will be making any puppy adopters sign a spay/neuter contract with our veterinarian.

If you are interested in adopting any of these dogs with any interest in breeding them, do NOT reach out 😀

Quick overview of what each class entails:

Cautious Canine 👀 - is targeted towards our nervous or fearful dogs but please no reactivity. Maybe your pup missed out on proper socialization and exposure? No worries, throughout this course we will cover methods of building confidence and management!

Loose Leash Walking 🐕- Exactly what it says! We will be working on loose leash walking manners. Got a puller or a weaver? This is the one for you.

Intro to Nosework 🐽 - This course is a unique course exploring a variety of nosework activities. Getting ready for those long winter months it’s a good idea to have inside friendly mental stimulation outlets! Have a pup that enjoys sniffing or just looking to try something new? This is the course for you.

Reliable Recall 💨- Everyone wants to know that when they call HERE their dog is going to come running. In this course we will cover some relationship and engagement building activities, working recall and proofing it through distractions.
