Brrrr! With the temperatures drastically dropping, we wanted to share the extra precautions we take to keep your pups safe and warm

🐶 When the temps drop below 32 degrees, we limit outdoor playtime to no longer than 10 minutes. We rotate dogs at a quicker pace to make sure each pup continues to get action, social time, and energy release.

🐶 We watch for signs of cold stress – Shivering, whining, or lifting paws are signs that the pup is too cold. If we observe these signs, we take all the dogs inside immediately.

🐶 Wet fur makes dogs even colder, so we dry them off after playing in the snow.

🐶 We make sure each pup has plenty of water to drink becasue cold air can make them extra thirsty.

🐶 And of course we provide a warm sleeping spot in their bedrooms along with cozy blankets and their favorite stuffies if they brought them!

We are staying safe & warm between outdoor playtimes and looking forward to warmer weather soon! ❄️🐾

❄️ UPDATE for Wednesday, February 19th ❄️

We have some important changes to our services for tomorrow:

All non-essential services will be canceled: Daycare, Grooming, & Training. Our lobby will also be closed for the day.

We will take doggies of first responders, or any emergency situation and care for them as one of our VIP boarding dogs. 

If you need to communicate with us, please message us here on our socials. Puppy Paws app users may use the app to message us directly.

Boarding and Daycare:

We will continue to care for our VIP dogs with smaller playgroup sessions for those boarding with us.

For clients dropping off for boarding or any emergency daycare, please message us via socials or our app upon arrival, and we will open the doors for you.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation, and we want to assure all of our boarding parents that your babies are safe and warm in our care!

We are still here caring for our VIP doggies, which are first responder’s dogs, and dogs that are boarding for families who are on vacation.

Bonding time with your dog can positively impact their mental and physical health 💓 Sharing love & affection through hugging and other forms of physical touch will bring happiness to both of you!

Try this bonding technique with your pup:

💓 Maintain gentle eye contact with your dog for about 2 minutes. This practice is based on research that shows both dogs and humans share an emotional bond when they look into each other’s eyes, releasing oxytocin, “the love hormone”, in both parties.

💓 Keep your gaze soft and relaxed to help them feel safe and loved. If your dog turns away, that’s their way of signaling they need a break.

💓 Practice this technique often to strengthen the emotional connection between you and your dog.

Due to the snowy weather, and the safety of our staff and clients, we are canceling all non-essential services, including grooming, training, and daycare, for today, Friday, 1/10.

Boarding will remain open and all boarding dogs will continue with their days as usual. Rest assured, we are ready to welcome all of our incoming boarding guests today! 🐾

While the winter chill sets in, rest assured we have all the precautions in place to keep your furry friends safe, warm, and happy.

Here’s what we’re doing to ensure your dog’s comfort:

•If it’s below 32°F, outdoor time is limited to just 10 minutes at a time to protect those paws from the cold.
•No water play during chilly days, but fresh drinking water is always available!
•Our attentive staff is extra watchful during outdoor play to ensure everyone’s well-being.
•Our heated playrooms provide a cozy haven where your pup can play, socialize, and burn off that winter energy!
