If anyone is cleaning out their linen closet and has old towels or flat sheets they would like to donate to us, we would be so incredibly grateful! It’s been a few years since we’ve put out a request, but we are now in need of ”dog and cat towels”.
Feel free to drop them off at the front desk or we would even be willing to come pick them up from you if that would make it easier.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity!!!

Missy was a feral kitten the Lovett family discovered outside their home. Estimated to be around 8 months old, Missy was skittish, allowing the family to pet her but little else. One day, Missy failed to show up for food, and the Lovetts found her injured—likely the victim of a car accident.
The family brought Missy to Family Pet Hospital, where Dr. Herron examined her and diagnosed a shattered pelvis and a dislocated femur. Missy faced two possibilities: a Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO) surgery or, in a worse-case scenario, a leg amputation.
As the Lovetts cared for Missy, they fell in love with her sweet nature and resilience. They decided to make her an indoor pet and committed to giving her a second chance at a "normal" life. Shortly after her initial visit, they returned to the clinic for Dr. Herron to perform surgery on Missy’s hind leg, knowing amputation remained a possibility.
During surgery, Dr. Herron removed a fragment of bone that had broken off the ischial spine of Missy’s right pelvis. This fragment was obstructing her right hip joint and preventing it from functioning properly. Post-surgery, Missy returned to Family Pet Hospital for several days of physical therapy, all while battling a respiratory infection.
Small but mighty, Missy wore a handmade leg brace and diligently worked on at-home exercises with her family to strengthen her injured leg. Her journey wasn’t easy—her owners admitted that the hardest part was not knowing if Missy would ever walk normally again. Missy’s determination to keep moving and her reluctance to rest during recovery posed additional challenges.
The Lovetts found comfort and encouragement through the daily updates from Dr. Herron, who reassured them that Missy was making great progress. These updates gave them hope and motivation during a difficult time.
Today, Missy is recovering well and avoided both an FHO surgery and amputation. Her owners are thrilled with her progress and grateful for the exceptional care she received. They believe Missy’s journey wasn’t just about healing physically—it was also about finding a second family at the clinic.
The Lovetts shared: “Everyone at Family Pet Hospital is amazing. We recommend this clinic to anyone with pet needs, and we’ll continue bringing all our pets here!”
Missy’s story is a testament to the power of love, determination, and the incredible bond between pets and their families

Keeping your pet active during the colder months can be tricky, but maintaining a healthy weight is crucial for their overall wellness.

For our dog patients, we recommend indoor tug-of-war, indoor fetch, and interactive toys.

For our cat patients, additional cardboard boxes never hurt – along with laser pointers, birdwatch stations, and interactive toys.
