Compassion 4 Paws is proud to provide a revolutionary and compassionate aftercare option for your beloved pets – water cremation, also known as aquamation or alkaline hydrolysis.

During water cremation, your beloved pet is gently placed in a specially designed chamber filled with naturally occurring salts, water and gentle heat. Over time, the process promotes the natural breakdown of tissues, leaving behind only bone. The remaining effluent is environmentally safe and returned to the earth, completing the cycle to ensure a serene and peaceful transition for your cherished pets. 💙

At Compassion 4 Paws, we celebrate the love that continues to live on in your hearts and are committed to supporting you during this difficult time by providing a fitting farewell for your beloved pets.🌈

If you have any questions about the aquamation process, please visit our website or reach out to speak with a Care Coordinator to learn more. 🐾

We are so excited to welcome Dr. Susan Anderson to the Compassion 4 Paws team!

A little bit about Dr. Susan:

I grew up primarily in eastern Washington, skipping between Yakima, Cle Elum, and Cowiche. After my high school graduation, I attended the University of Washington, obtaining both a degree in mechanical engineering and a husband. I worked for Boeing for 7 years, then returned to school to earn my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Washington State University in 1997. Since then, I’ve worked in general practice treating dogs and cats around the northern Puget Sound, in between raising and homeschooling four children.

Although I’ve consistently enjoyed and been proud of the variety of skills required in general practice, I’ve always considered euthanasia to be one of the most important parts of my job. However, I was always aware that a busy veterinary hospital was usually not the best place for this to happen. I’m very excited to join Compassion 4 Paws, where pets and their families can spend their last moments together at home. My goal is to help pets pass as stress-free as possible, and to try to make one of their family’s hardest days just a little bit easier.

I live in Lake Stevens with my youngest child and two cats, Neo (named after Mr. Anderson in the Matrix) and I-HOP (he has three legs). In addition, my daughter and I share a dressage horse, Apollo. In my spare time I enjoy riding, reading, drawing, and painting, and I like to pretend that someday I will write the Great American Novel.

Welcome Dr. Susan!!

"Bailey was born a Cardigan Welsh Corgi with a Blue Merle coloring. He was born July 5, 2011 on Vashon Island, Washington. His father was Coedwig’s Malachite and mother was Afara Jolene, (both were Champions).
He was brought from the island to Everett Washington by Steve and Tammy on September 3, 2011. It was his first time seeing grass as he had been raised indoors to avoid predators. He thought the grass was fun and loved tugging on it and running around on it.
He soon discovered a park across the street from his home where he could meet other dog friends and people in the neighborhood. He was known as a neighborhood watcher and greeter for anyone or dog coming by. He loved car rides and sitting on the neighbors’ deck across the street.
When he was seven, he met his new dog sister, Lucy. She is also a Cardigan Welsh Corgi, but black and white. They got along well and had fun playing with her and the other dogs from the neighborhood. Bailey was real laid back, but Lucy bugged him as she was a bit bossy.
He got sick on Tuesday November 19th, 2024. He was allowed to stay home and rest, but wasn’t going to get any better.
The vet came to see him on Thursday afternoon November 21st. He left his family and friends to travel over the Rainbow Bridge at 2:30 PM that same day.
He is very much missed by all who knew him."

Run free, precious Bailey 🧡🩶
