Summertime greetings and keep cool wishes to you all! It's been a fun and full season for us and I'm pleased to get a minute to share some photos by Sister and Sister Photography and Events of our Partnership Strengthening Clinic at Westside Stables earlier this year. It was a lovely weekend of connection, communication and community! How much better can it get?

Merry Holidays to you and yours! May this time of reflection, connection and quiet bring you much inspiration and clarity to step into the upcoming year with confidence and grace!

Caitlin and I are very excited to announce the dates for a couple of our workshop offerings in 2023, including:

1) Our 3 part series on Connection, Communication and Partnership with horses begins with Part 1 March 25-26. This experience of work as a group will span 6 months in which we will meet for 3 weekends and three different locations to fully immerse ourselves in horse time and teachings.

2) Our Introduction to Connection and Communication with Horses workshop at Fay Ranch in Duvall, WA April 15-16. This workshop offers a blend of classroom and hands on time with horses in an experiential learning format and benefits the feel and awareness of any level of horseperson.

Wow, what a year it has been! As the season turns to the last of 2022 I find myself filled with gratitude and hope in response to reflecting on all that came to pass this year. Caitlin and I tried a couple new formats and locations and of course it didn't all go quite as planned, but the journey to discovering what the moments had to teach was very rich indeed!

One of the new formats we tried out was a 3 part series of workshops taking participants all the way from skills to begin an interaction with an equine to developing and experiencing a partnership with a horse in hand and under saddle. Here's our first group of participants on the last day of the final workshop. I think those smiles say it all! It was an amazing and empowering experience for me as a teacher to say the least and I took away a renewed sense of curiosity and awe at all that horses inspire and offer to us through connection, communication and partnership.

Caitlin and I have begun planning our workshop offerings for 2023 and will announce more about our plans very soon so those of you feeling called to join us can get signed up! What I can share at this time is that our offerings will include:

*a 3 part series
*an intro to connection and communication with horses
*a continuing mastery workshop for those who have already attended one or more with us before
*a monthly group lesson for youth
*online educational offerings

I am honored to take part in some incredible and inspiring horsemanship journeys in my 15+ years of working as an instructor and trainer. This year I'll be sharing some stories about the wide range of students of the horse I work with to celebrate the unique ways horses influence and encourage connection and learning.

Client Spotlight #3🌟 Devon Stone, PATH CTRI and ESMHL 🌟

Devon is a long time equestrian as well as equine professional working as a PATH Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor and Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning.

We first met at her place of employment, Little Bit Therapeutic Riding Center, when I attended a PATH ESMHL workshop there back in 2017. In my time as an intern then full time instructor at Little Bit she was a powerful supporter of my learning and a fantastic co worker! She is an incredibly talented instructor and mentor as well as fun person to be around in general.

As time went on of course we talked all about horses and life and especially ground handling and training techniques, methodologies and ideas. We worked together while I was employed at Little Bit to help support members of their herd better understand and enjoy their jobs and found we had much in common as far as our basic values when being and working with horses. Her interest in adding to and refining her communication abilities with horses on the ground led her into coming to take lessons with me a couple times a month starting back in 2020 and continues to this day.

It's a real delight for me to support fellow equine professionals in continuing their education and refining their techniques as there is always more to learn in a field as rich and diverse as working with horses! Devon, your enthusiasm and curiosity as a learner is an inspiration to many, especially me!
