We are so happy to hear that Gudger is doing well!! I will pass along your sweet message to our weekend emergency vet Dr. Jerrems and her technician team!

This is the plate that originally contained chocolate covered strawberries and chocolate molten lava cake. You can’t see all these things because my dog swallowed them whole (how I know this will be explained later), leaving only a single chocolate covered strawberry behind. Thanks to the incredible quick action of the staff at both The Sebastian - Vail and Vail Valley Animal Hospital, we got Gudger to a vet asap and induced vomiting. This is how we know he scarfed the contents of that plate down whole - it came back up looking remarkably like it did before it was eaten. He didn’t chew anything. Gudger is well, resting and thoroughly pleased with himself. I’m in love with the vet, her staff, and the kind people at the Sebastian who went out of their way to make sure he’d be ok.

Vail Valley Animal Hospital and ER is currently open for your emergency pet needs Monday through Thursday 8a to 5p, Friday 8a to 9p and Saturday and Sundays from 9a to 9p. We also welcome scheduled appointments Monday through Friday from 8a to 5p. Due to staffing constraints our Eagle Vail clinic is available by appointment only at this time. Labor Day brings about interesting smells and new foods that can tempt even the most well-behaved dogs. When it comes to human foods, avoid feeding pets from the table or grill. In addition to stomach and digestive problems caused by greasy and carb-heavy human foods, your dog could potentially burn themselves on hot grill plates or burning coals.

NEW WEEKEND ER HOURS COMING SOON!!!

We are excited to our announce that starting next weekend we will be offering weekend on call emergency hours, and have a new ER veterinarian joining our team!

Effective Friday, June 17th, 2022, our new hours will be as follows:

Monday-Friday- 8AM to 5PM with on call emergency until 9PM
Saturday & Sunday- 9AM-9PM on call emergency care

We would like to introduce you to our new weekend ER doctor, Dr. Olivia Jerrems!

Dr. Jerrems was born and raised in Pensacola, FL. She spent 10 years studying at the University of Florida, first completing her undergraduate studies in business and the moving on to veterinary school (Go Gators!). After finishing veterinary school, she completed a rigorous Small Animal Medicine and Surgery Internship at Veterinary Specialty Center outside of Chicago. It was at this time that Dr. Jerrems fell in love with emergency medicine. Outside of her career, Dr. Jerrems enjoys Ironman triathlons, backcountry camping, fishing and trying to keep up with her two crazy dogs. She is excited to move to the Vail Valley and looks forwards to serving our pets and pet parents!

We want to thank each of you for your continued loyalty and for granting us the honor of caring for your wonderful pets!

We are looking for an experienced VT/VA to join our team! Schedule would be 3 twelves Friday/Saturday/Sunday or Saturday/Sunday/Monday for full time + benefits. PT is available as 2 twelves Saturday and Sunday only but FT/30 hours is required for full benefits. Veterinary experience is required, emergency experience preferred, certification is not required but is a bonus. $5000 sign on bonus for experienced techs. EPIC pass for all full time employees!
