Foster Pet Outreach is a local non-profit organization, 501(c)(3), whose main focus is to help provide for the well being of animals in our community. We believe that abandoned, injured, or neglected animals deserve the same care and concern, as do our own companion animals. Our members feel that they have the responsibility to address the general needs of this community's animals and to champion

the rights of those worthwhile beings with whom we share our world. Foster Pet Outreach seeks to educate the community in the topics of pet over-population and the necessity of responsible pet ownership. We also bring to local attention the plight of animals who have been denied the basic necessities for a quality life. Foster Pet Outreach wishes that everyone recognize the dignity and worth of all animals

It’s the first Mature Mutt Monday of Nat’l Senior Adoption month so of course we wanted to introduce another awesome Mature Mutt in our program!

This is Sidney, a male 9 yo Shih Tzu mix. Sidney had a pretty rough entry into our program, his owner passed and the family immediately called animal control. In one fell swoop poor Sidney lost his beloved owner and his home and his little world was completely rocked.

Sidney loves rides in the car and a good walk which is wonderful because he’s a little under-socialized and needs to get out and experience the world. He will bark at strangers, especially men and can be a bit slow to warm up. However once you gain his trust, you’ll find no more loyal and affectionate friend than Sidney. He hungers for attention and love. Your lap will never grow cold if he’s around, because that’s where he wants to be.

Sidney gets along well with other dogs of a similar size and temperament. He plays with a couple of the other dogs in foster and pretty much ignores the cats. He is completely housetrained.

Sidney is a total companion dog and is looking for an owner who spends a lot of time at home. He would be a fabulous companion for a senior. His foster works from home and Sidney makes sure she is never lonely, choosing to nap directly under her desk. When his fosters do need to leave home, he is easily gated with the other dogs in a room.

If you’re looking for a sweet little cuddle bug, this little fellow is ready to claim his spot on your lap and bed, and in your heart.

If you have been following our puppy family that was dumped on the side of the road at 3 weeks of age; we finally got a better understanding of their breed. One of the adopted families did a DNA test see image for results!

These pups are now 4 months old and we still have 4 looking for their forever homes!

At the start of this November we would like to recognize our senior girl Sassy!

She is Sassy in name and Sassy in nature. Sassy is about 12 years old, a miniature poodle mix and a grande dame in her own right.

Miss Sassy is housetrained and gets along well with cats and other dogs…as long as they understand that she has no time for shifoolery. If any rascally pup decides to get in her face, they’re going to get the Sassy-tude!!

Sassy may be 12 but she has the energy and spirit of a much younger dog. She loves a brisk walk and is ready for adventure. She’s a snuggler and loves to sit on your lap to relax. As a grande dame, she has excellent manners and would happily accompany you to dog-friendly venues. And as something of a foodie, she will happily share your meal with you-she has a penchant for French fries, so go ahead and super-size—-Sassy will want her share!

Sassy is a fabulous little companion. If you’re looking for a “dog with experience”, with the spirit of a lion and a warm loving heart, look no further.

Hello friends, my name is Sheldon, my friends call me Shelley.
I am a two 1/2-year-old Maltese mix and weigh 10 lbs. I’m neutered and up to date on all my shots. I am crate-trained, house-broken, and get along with dogs and cats.
I enjoy playing with toys, going for walks, and snuggling on the couch with my people. My foster mom says I talk a lot (barks) but I have so much to say.
Although I am friendly I would prefer a home with older children.
When it is time to go to bed I love to cuddle with my human because I get cold at night.

Mickie. Oh this sweet sweet girl Mickie. She is so loving and cuddly and has a little spirit in her but honestly she just wants to snuggle and be wherever her human is at. She is so eager to learn and be a good girl but still needs work with potty training.

Mickie is 4mths old and guessed to be 30-40lbs max full grown. Her breed is unknown but sure cute.

Are you her furever family ?? She hopes to meet you soon.

Attention Rivermen fans! Thanks to Peoria Jaycees, we have four fourth-row tickets for the November 15 game available for raffle, along with a nice basket of assorted goodies! Tickets are $5 each or 5 for$20. We will be selling these through our event on November 2, or you can purchase those using PayPal or Venmo. And 100% of the proceeds go to rescuing and adopting out our wonderful animals. Who wants to see it reigning champions?

She is working on her potty training but will need a family with patience as she is still just a little girl.
Minnie’s breed is unknown but guessed to be 30-40lbs full grown.

Welcome Barney! Barney is around 1 year old and a lover of all things. Barney came jam packed full of love to give. Mr Barney came to us after a plea for help to get him out as he was starting yo shut down. Barney was just so sad and missing the touch of a human. Barney craves being around his person, and wants to be by his person. He will lean on you, lay on you, kiss you, hug you. The cutest thing? You tell him he’s a good boy and he will just strut his stuff and prance like the happiest boy of all time! Barney is mostly potty trained and we are in the process of working on kennel training. Barney is dog, cat, and kid friendly! Do you have the spot in your heart to watch this boy blossom?!

Axel is a very cute, 35 lb, playful, and affectionate beagle mix that is about 8 months old. Having spent several months in a shelter, he is timid and learning how to live in a household. Axel likes people, but loves other dogs, chew toys, and exploring. He sleeps quietly in a crate and keeps his crate clean. He will need continued work learning to walk on a leash because he’s scared of cars and other loud noises. He is doing well with house training.

Axel’s ideal home would have a fenced yard, another dog for him to play with and learn from, and a patient family to help him learn that the world is a fun and safe place for him. Apply today if you’re ready for a sweet and cute addition to your family!

I’m in my cute kitten era 😉 I’m Casper 👻 I am roughly 9-10 weeks old. I’m the extremely friendly kitty! I am a very confident little dude! Im good with other cats, great with dogs (I actually enjoy being around dogs), and kids. I love go play with spring toys, use my scratching post, and cuddle with my people. I even like to cuddle with the dogs, ranging from small to big! My foster says they think I’m part dog considering I love to be around them to play and rub on them to love them! I’m good in my litter box and I am a good eater. Can I purr my way into your heart and you can be my forever family??

Our next adoptable cutie is: Bianca!

Hello it’s Bianca or Beez for short. Bianca is a long haired chihuahua mix weighing in at 10lbs. We are guessing her to be around 1 1/2 years old . She is crate trained, dog cat and kid friendly. She is young and VERY active. She loves toys and chews. She is learning about sharing, walking and outside. She is doing great on our walks. She is not house broken but we are working on it. She seems like she is going to want to be in charge of her pack. She doesn’t seem to be interested in interacting with the other small dogs. However, she loves playing with the gentle large dog (65lbs). At this time she is not a lap dog or a curl up with you on the couch kinda gal. I think she would enjoy a yard to play in. Who is ready for this wonderful dog to share their loving home?

Tonight is the night again! Parlor Skills is back tonight from 7-8 at our building. Bring your favorite dog that needs a little socialization, and the humans can socialize just as much! It's free to the public, anyone can join us, so just drop by during that time. Your dogs will thank you, and you'll meet some great dog owners!

We are still looking for a new foster home for Minnie, Mickey and Michelangelo. We need to get the three to a new foster home or homes ASAP. If you are already interested in adopting any of these lovable pups, we can do a foster-to-adopt arrangement to make this easier for everyone. We just wanted to share an update on our other litter of puppies. These guys were tossed out on the side of the road at just 2 weeks of age. One of our rescue partners took them in and reached out for our help. We had 2 foster homes step up to take on the challenge of caring for these babies. They are now 7 weeks old and doing well. We have 6 girls and 2 boys. What are they you might ask? You're guess is as good as ours. Right now we think they will be a smaller breed. Stay tuned for updates on who each of them are and when we'll start taking applications!
