Tell us about your pet's “gotcha” day! 🏠
In honor of World Pet Memorial Day we wanted to take the time to remember some of our past fur babies 🐾🪽 There truly is nothing like the bond you and your pet have together and we here at EPH have been lucky enough to have had some of THE best furever friends you could ask for. We miss them every single day, but they will always be in our hearts. #WorldPetMemorialDay #edwardsvillepethospital #EPH #rainbowbridge 🌈

The roundworms shown here were vomited up by one of our patients last week! As intriguing as it can be for us in the veterinary field to see these, they can be very gross and scary for our clients!
Intestinal parasites, fleas, ticks, and heartworms can be prevented with monthly prevention! Call your veterinary office today for more information on how to keep your pets safe from these creepy crawlers! 🐶🐈
🥶Important update!!🥶
We will be closing today, Feburary 15th, 2021, at 11 am due to weather and road conditions. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Please stay safe (and warm!) out there and keep your pets inside!!
Forrest enjoyed his visit with us so much today he couldn't stop talking about it!! Forrest was a perfect gentleman for his annual vaccines with Dr. Stokes!
Ear Mites On The Move
A new action movie from your friends at EPH!!
(Be sure to watch with the sound on! 🔊)
All the little bugs you see moving and dancing in the video are called ear mites also known as Otodectes cynotis. They are like tiny little spiders crawling in your pets ears. These mites are most commonly found in cats but can also be found in rabbits, ferrets, and dogs. They are highly contagious and are easily passed from one pet to another. Don't worry though! They are species specific and won't transfer over to humans.
Common symptoms of ear mites are:
🕷Shaking head
🕷Scratching at ears
🕷Dark and dry crusty discharge from the ears
🕷Sores behind or around the ear
Ear mites are easily treated and there is a monthly, topical prevention for cats, rabbits, and ferrets. This prevention is called Revolution (rabbits and ferrets) or Revolution Plus (cats) that will help prevent your pet from getting ear mites. We do recommend this prevention year round to prevent fleas, heartworms, intestinal parasites and ear mites. Revolution Plus for cats will also prevent ticks!
If you suspect your pet might have ear mites or an ear infection, call and set up an appointment today!
We are HOWLING happy its Friday!! Happy Friday everyone!
