Wrenlee is still waiting for her furever home ❤️

Wrenlee is the sweetest, happiest girl who loves attention. She likes her stuffies, toys and chew bones. She likes to play with other dogs and has become friends with one of our longest residents, Amiah. We are unsure at this time how she does with cats.

Wrenlee is a boxer/pittie mix around a year old.

Dayton is our special needs boy here at the shelter and so badly wants his furever home.

Dayton came to the shelter as a stray and was never claimed. He is absolutely terrified here and so badly wants a warm, safe place to call home. After a vet visit because we noticed he wasn't walking normal it was determined he has an old upper body injury. Due to having this old injury, he does have some trouble walking and with his balance. He would need a calm, laid-back home with either no other dogs or a calm dog. He also needs home with no cats and no children.

Dayton is a lab mix around 4-5 years old.

His adoption fee is $130. He will come current on his age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped, on current flea/tick/heartworm prevention and neutered.

Watson is still looking for his furever home 🏡

From his Foster Mama:
Watson is the sweetest boy! He gets along well with our Bernese mountain dog mix. In the first 2 hours in our home, he learned to use the dog door and hasn't had a single accident in our house. Watson loves to learn, he knows basic commands of sit, come, away and is learning down. Watson walks very well on a leash and is extremely food motivated. Watson loves some quality couch time but spends most of his time outside chasing squirrels and chewing sticks. He loves a good fuzzy blanket and squeaky toy. Watson wants to be friends with the cat, but his chase instinct is strong, and he usually just chases her down the stairs when she rejects his friendship.
Watson will do well in a home with someone needing a best friend. His favorite past time is following his people around the house so close that his nose is at the back of your knee. He likes the reassurance of a pat on the head, but he's not a huge cuddler. He likes movie time on the couch but apparently dislikes any Marissa tomei movies.... he barks at her 😂.... yes we tested this theory.. everyone's a critic.

Watson is an XL boy weighing around 65lbs at 6 months old.

This pint size little guy is looking for furever 🏠

Victor is a 1-2 year old Boxer/Bulldog mix. He currently weighs about 35 pounds but we expect him to gain a bit more weight as he came in very skinny. His ears haven’t quite decided what they want to do but we think that adds to his charm 🤷‍♀️

Victor gets along with some dogs but we will require a meet and greet with potential dog siblings. We are unsure of how he does with cats. We believe older kids would be best for him.

‼️EXPERIENCED KITTEN FOSTER NEEDED‼️

Little Sally survived what we in the rescue world call fading kitten syndrome. She has since made a wonderful recovery thanks to our vet and her previous foster.

She is now needing an experienced foster that can handle her needs. She is on some medications for now and will need to be fed more frequently to maintain and gain weight.

Miss Amiah is so so sad here at the shelter. She keeps watching all of her buddies get adopted and she has yet to find her perfect home 🥺

Amiah is so full of personality she just simply cannot contain it all. She loves to vocalize when she is excited or impatient. This girl gets along well with other dogs her size that will play with her. She will need a home with no cats.

ECAC is currently full with 0️⃣ open kennels. Every kennel, the office, and our isolation room are currently housing dogs. We currently have 4 court case dogs in our care, which ties up those kennels.

Each dog has their individual posts located on our page or petfinder.
Dog adopted fees are $130 each. They will come current on their age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped, on current flea/tick/heartworm prevention and spayed/neutered.

Nelson unfortunately has gotten some bad news today, and he isn't taking the news very well....
He is heartworm positive ❤️‍🩹

Poor Nelson already is having a hard time adjusting to the shelter life and to top it all off the news of having heartworms is just heartbreaking. While heartworm disease is treatable, it does take a toll on these poor pups, especially soft souls like him that are already stressed at the shelter.

Nelson is desperately in need of a foster home or furever home. He is around 7-8 years old and needs a home with no cats. He does ok with some other dogs, but a meet and greet is required with potential dog siblings. His ideal home would be a calm, laid-back home while he undergoes his treatments.

Nelson will be undergoing treatment at the Pet Wellness Center of Southern, IL. If you would like to donate to his medical bills you can do so by calling the clinic at 217-342-7444.

ECAC is in need of a stereo system for our dog kennel area 📻🎶

We recently were blessed enough to receive an mp3 soothing noise system to help keep the dogs in our care calm. However, the sound system we currently have is too old and does not work for an AUX hookup.

We also could use a regular radio for our cat room as ours is on its last leg.

Sutton has been decompressing in a foster home and now is ready to look for furever 🩷

Sutton is a sweet little lady that just takes a little longer to warm up. She absolutely loves the company of other dogs so a buddy in her new home is a must. Sutton would prefer a home with a fenced in backyard as she is working on walking on a leash but does have a habit of chasing cars.

Dayton and Nelson are still shut down and looking for a home to decompress in 😞

These boys each had an owner once upon a time. Now they are left scared…shut down…. and confused. They are completely shut down and need out of the shelter ASAP. This is unfortunately something we see all too often 😔

Dayton was another one of our strays brought in and never claimed. He is in shut down mode and is absolutely terrified. We are desperately looking for an adopter or foster for him.

We are guessing him to be a lab mix around 4-5 years old.

Nelson was one of our many strays found this past week & unfortunately was never claimed 💔

When Nelson arrived at the shelter he instantly went into shut down mode. As much as we try our best to make shelter life like home, it just doesn't compare to the feeling & love of an actual home. He is currently staying in our office but just cries because he so badly just wants to go home.

Nelson is an older gentleman around 7-8 years old. He is not a fan of cats but has done ok with some other dogs so a meet and greet with potential dog siblings is required. We are unsure at this time about children, but we think he would do well with older children.

Nelson's adoption fee is $130. He will come current on his age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped, on current flea/tick/heartworm prevention and neutered.

We are a no-kill animal control facility servicing Effingham County in Illinois. We pride ourselves on trying to find the perfect match for each of our animals. If your adoption application is approved, we will call you to set up a meet and greet time. Please allow up to one week to process your application.

FOSTERING: we are always in need of fosters for our animals. What does fostering mean? Fostering is when you take home one or more of our animals to live with you for a short time while we work on finding their furever home. If interested in fostering, please fill out the above adoption application, but mark “FOSTER” on the first line.
