Dr. Ishmael will be out of the office and unavailable starting the evening of Thursday, June 9th through June, 18th. The clinic will be open 8:00-4:30, Monday-Friday, for any over the counter medications needed. Business will be as usual on Monday, June 20th. Thank you for your understanding.

Update: 11/13/21 4:45pm

Tank was found earlier this afternoon just north of Altamont on the blacktop by a very kind hearted young lady and was taken to a veterinarian in Effingham. Sadly, he has passed on. Thank you to all who shared my post and helped look.

If anyone happens to see an older male Yorkshire Terrier running around the northern end of Altamont, would you please let me know!!

FB Friends & Family we need your help finding Tank, an older neutered Yorkshire Terrier. He has a pronounced limp when he walks. Tank was last seen between the north edge of Altamont and 1100th Ave. He is very friendly and is microchipped. If you see Tank or can help please call the Myers Family on (618) 339-3113. We’re desperate to find these boys a safe place to land!

Imagine losing your parents when they were the only people you had ever known, then ending up locked up for 22 hours a day. That has been the life for Smokey & Beau, they’ve been here for 4 months. While that may not seem like a long time, for Smokey it’s been an eternity and we see him starting to breakdown. He is showing behavior that tells us he needs out immediately.

We attempted to separate them when they first came in and Smokey was extremely petrified and could not cope without Beau. While we do not want to do this to these boys, we may have to consider it if we cannot find them an adopter or rescue together. Smokey is not doing well, he needs out of the shelter and at this point that may mean he loses the last bit of family he has left.

Smokey is a 2 year old Australian Shepherd, he does great with other dogs, would do best with teenager and older, and needs a home that’s patient and will give him time to warm up and space to run. He is afraid of strangers, but does well with people he knows. Beau is a 9 year old Heeler mix that is extremely well trained, loves everyone he meets, does great with other dogs, but does not like cats. He did get injured before coming to us and has a slight limp when he walks that’s due to incorrect healing. He may need some pain meds if he’s having a really hard day, but the more he uses it the better it will get!

Beau & Smokey have a combined $25 adoption fee, we would also be happy to work with another 501(c)3 rescue that may be interested in taking these boys. This is our last ditch effort to keep them together, if we can’t find someone willing to take on this deserving duo we will have to separate them so Smokey can get out of the shelter.

Sorry for the last minute notice, but as of today (May 1, 2021) we will be closing the office at noon on Saturdays.

MISSING DOG:

Lost 1/29. Buddy a 11 yr old Collie missing from his home west of Green Creek area. He was staying with grandparents while family is deployed to Germany. Wearing blue neck kerchief. Please help us find him. Thank you.
