These striking algae eaters are known for their gold and black coloration and active personalities. They love strong water flow, smooth rocks to perch on, and well-oxygenated tanks.

While they help graze on algae, they also need a varied diet with sinking foods and veggies. Curious, hardworking, and fun to watch as they scoot along surfaces—these fish are more than just cleanup crew ✨

Our Story

In the year 2000, a little girl named Molly dreamed of one day having a pet shoppe better than the rest in her town. Even at the young age of 12, she knew she could give critters the care they deserve, and her father knew it too. Inspired by the twinkle in her eye and heart on her sleeve, Gayland Bourland left his career in furniture to make his daughters wish a reality. Almost two decades later, it’s no surprise that Molly, now with a degree in animal science, has joined her father in running Noah’s Ark Pet Shoppe. Even her son, Elijah, is in on the gig, providing love and care to the future pets of Effingham. With amphibians, birds, and furballs galore, we have everything you need to make your child’s dream come true.
