"Pet Diabetes Month is observed every year in November. This month is dedicated to spreading awareness about this lifelong condition of diabetes, which affects approximately one in 300 adult dogs and one in 230 cats in the United States. Diabetes is a condition that keeps pets from producing or utilizing insulin, which prevents the conversion of food to energy. This makes sugar remain in the blood which results in lethargy and other health-related complications. Diabetes has no cure, but it can be controlled via medication and lifestyle practices."

In addition, this holiday spreads awareness about how to prevent or treat cancer in our furry friends. Statistics from MedVet show that one in five cats and one in four dogs are diagnosed with cancer. This makes National Pet Cancer Awareness Month all the more important — to help pet owners learn about how to give their loved ones a better life."

"Aren’t newborn puppies and kittens just the cutest? While they are adorable, a newborn litter means lots of new puppies and kittens in need of a home. Dogs and cats tend to reproduce a lot, a female cat can potentially give birth to over 100 kittens over the course of a lifetime! During the spring months, we usually see an increase in the births of puppies and kittens. With that in mind, each February every year has been named National Prevent a Litter Month."

If you're unsure that something your pet ingested is toxic, or you need advice on what's best to do for your pet, this service can help answer those questions too. 👍
