Good evening everyone! We apologize for the delay, but here is a quick update on Ella, the Bull Terrier that had pieces of mop stuck in her belly:
On Sunday the 2nd Ella had to undergo another surgery due to slight complications from the first surgery. Thankfully things went well and she is on the mend! 🐾😮💨 The video below is of her eating a few hours after the second surgery. She has a big appetite, but she can only have small amounts of food. 🐾👍🏼
She will continue the rest of her aftercare at the vet hospital for another couple of weeks for further observation, and to make sure there are no further complications. Please send our sweet Ella girl lots of love and pawsitive-healing vibes! 🐾❤️🙏🏼
Today’s microchipping event was an absolute HIT! 149 of Imperial Valley’s pets were microchipped! 🐾🎉🥳We would like to thank our volunteers Patricia Arevalo Caro, Anabelle Alvarez, Annette Almazan, and Ali Perez for donating their time to help make 4 hours of microchipping go quick, easy, and super smooth! We would also like to give a big thanks to Fitness Oasis Health Club and Spa for hosting the event! Also, a VERY special thank you to the RGT Trust for sponsoring and making the first 100 microchips FREE! Last, but certainly not least, thank you to all the pet parents for bring their fur babies in today! 🐾👍🏼❤️
If you’re looking to add to your furry family, please make adoption your first choice! 🙏🏼 Our shelter has SEVERAL pets that are in desperate need of homes. Many of our kennels are quadrupled up and some even quintupled up, which is not ideal at all. ☹️ These animals are happy, healthy, and perfectly adoptable! Many are picked up as strays that no one went looking for, or are surrendered to Animal Control because they’re no longer wanted. Remember all pets adopted from our shelter are FULLY vetted and our adoption benefits include:
• Spayed\Neutered.
• Fully vaccinated.
• Microchipped.
• One FREE wellness exam with Desert Veterinary Group.
• One FREE grooming with Awesome Pawz in Holtville or 50% off first grooming with Mende’s Groom Room (both only apply to dogs).
• Dogs and puppies get one FREE 45 minute basic training session with Buddy Sweets in Brawley.
• Cats and kittens are FIV/FeLV tested.
You get ALL that for one very reasonable adoption fee! 🤯 Animals in some of our local municipal shelters are being euthanized or “put to sleep” for time and space. If more people chose to adopt from shelters it would free up some space and the animals whose lives are on the line could better get the help they need.
For more information about adopting, adoption fees, seeing what pets we have in our care, or for any other general info, please visit our website at www.imperialcountyhumane.org. Please share and remember, #AdoptionSavesLives and please #SpayAndNeuter! 🐾👍🏼

⭐️ WINNERS! ⭐️ WINNERS! ⭐️ WINNERS! ⭐️
CONGRATULATIONS to the winners of our Hello Kitty Basket and BBQ Grill prize drawings! We were able to raise a total of $867 and 100% of that goes towards our New Shelter Project! THANK YOU everyone for your love and support, and THANK YOU Heather Schenck and Alfredo Moran for donating the items! 🐾❤️👍🏼
A couple of months ago we received an email from the Palmdale High School AVID Club (which is nearly 4 hours away from our community) stating that they wanted to hold a fundraiser for our shelter, thanks to a supporter from far away who told them all about our efforts - Mr. Ryan Frakes. The students put together several fundraiser sponsor bags containing handmade bracelets, stickers, postcards with pictures and info of pets from our shelter, and some other goodies. MUCH to our surprise, they sold all their fundraiser bags and raised a total of $8️⃣7️⃣0️⃣ for the animals in our care!!! 🐾🤯🙌🏼
Our entire staff and the animals would all like to give a huge and heartfelt THANK YOU to all the students from the Palmdale High School AVID club for all their hard work, love, and support! You all are rockstars! 🐾❤️
Kenickie says he’s not ready for kitten season or the heat! Please spay and neuter! 🐾😩🥵
‼️ Clear The Shelters ends tomorrow! ‼️
Don’t forget, all adoption fees have been lowered to only $5 (yes, FIVE dollars) for #ClearTheShelters. Below is a video recorded by our Adoptions Specialist, Desiree. While kennel staff was moving dogs around to make room for 10 new dogs coming in from Animal Control, Desiree captures just how overcrowded our kennels are with dogs who are still waiting to find their furever homes. It’s a hard watch, but it’s our hard reality and the reality for overcrowded shelters all across the United States right now.
Oh! And remember, we also have cats and kittens available for adoption 7 days a week at both our local Petco and PetSmart stores! 🐾🐈⬛
Can’t adopt, but still want to be involved? Please consider making a donation to the shelter using this link: https://clearthesheltersfund.org/?form=FUNZQGXRNSJ. Even $5 will make a HUGE impact, and 100% of your donation will go to the shelter pets in need! 🐾❤️
Please spay and neuter your pets, please make adoption your first choice, and please share! 🐾🙏🏼

Good morning Everyone! 🐾😃
We know it’s been a while since we last updated everyone on Niña, but we wanted to take a moment and share the latest news on her with you all - Niña is doing great! Her leg has healed fabulously and as you can see she is very happy and healthy, and she is using her leg! She is at the tail end of her recovery at the vet, but will soon be released and will be available for adoption when she is. 🐾🎉
Once again, we would like to say THANK YOU to everyone who shared her story, donated, sent her healing energy, and made our sweet Niña’s recovery possible! YOU made Niña’s second chance pawssible! 🐾❤️
