Janou-Jelke v. Hermesheem ("Judy"), the mother of Claire and grandmother of Claire's 13 pups, passed yesterday at the ripe age of 15 years and 5 months. It was a long and productive life with hunting and puppies and companionship, but time takes its toll on all of us. Each time I visited Jerrie and Rita over the years, I feared that it would be the last time I would see Judy. It has come to pass.
