Armani is at the vet having surgery for this mystery cyst that has now burst under her chin. It’s not a major surgery and hopefully it’ll clear up whatever she has going on. Wish her luck and reminder that no dog is ever “free”.

Nick is at the vet for some eye gunk. He’s also got a fever so he’s gonna be on some antibiotics just as a precaution. He’s a wonderful but scared boy.

PUPDATE: we are going to pull this boy today. Please continue to share as I imagine he’ll need lots of time and training before he’s available for adoption. Thank you.

This boy is at risk of euthanasia for behavior at the shelter in Las Cruces. If you’d like to adopt, he’s currently still listed. We’d like to pull him and could use some funds to help make that happen. We can give him some time and expertise but we can’t without funding.

We’re getting ready to Shed El Paso! We’ve got some dogs heading out this weekend and we could use some help with gas $$$. It took about $600 last trip. The number of dogs we can save without your help is very small. Contributing in this way allows us to continue! We’ve got 3 adults and at least one juvenile headed out of Hell Paso! Maybe more!

We took on this little girl today. She was an owner surrender that I took in because the pics and the vid in the post didn’t paint a pretty picture. Upon arrival she was given flea/tick/ and Heartworm prevention and during her bordetella dose, we found a large mass under her neck 🤦‍♀️ Off to the vet she went. Vet thinks it’s an abscess so she got antibiotics and we wormed her while we were there since she has a skinny body and a lil pot belly. She’s not ready yet but once she’s fully vetted she’ll be available for adoption. She’s a shepherd husky mix born 14 April.

Both adopted!

It’s National Black Dog Day! Reminder that Snape and Char are both vetted and available for adoption or rescue transfer. Both dog and people friendly and on flea/tick/HW prevention.

Our feral cat, dubbed “Yubi”, had another trip to the vet to the tune of $236.28. She’s on a stronger antibiotic, a steroid, and we’ve done a couple more blood tests for thyroid issues and corona.

Alma is a 1-2 yo shepherd malinois mix. She was found as a stray in soccoro with huge infected wounds. She is fixed, chipped, vaccinated, dog friendly, and heartworm (4DX) negative. She is fearful and snappy when unsure and with new people so she would be a project dog for an experienced owner. She is very good once she is comfortable with you.

We got him! Welcome Chombo to rescue!

Boots

We do a lot here and one of the things we do is take care of a few feral cats. This boy is Boots, and he showed up injured last week. We caught him and got him to the vet for an infected leg. It was $120.07. Little things like this don’t break the bank by themselves, but unfortunately, little things like this happen often and add up. This is the 3rd feral cat from our colony requiring vet care this year, so you can see how it begins to hurt after a while. Check out Feta today! She was up at the door of her run this morning with a wag to greet me. She’s definitely feeling better! Ty to everyone that’s donated and shared. It’s much appreciated!

Good morning everyone! We got a new doggy last night! Ty Paty, Monica, and Mariana for bringing this poor soul out of the streets and in to a better chance at life. Haven’t named her yet, but leaning “Feta” as she smells like cheese and Feta is cool. Today we’re gonna go for skin scrape, 4DX, and more shampoo, as what I have ain’t gonna cover this. She’ll eventually need vaccines, chip, and Spay. Anyone wanna guess the breed/s? Stay tuned for her glow up! She’s coming around.

This girl is going to get euthanized for heartworms and space in the las cruces shelter. If we can get enough donations to cover treatment before she’s euthanized, we can save her. She doesn’t have a Euthanasia date set but she’s already been there a minute. If you can adopt her, her name is Elenor and she’s very sweet. Located at 5001 Bataan memorial in Las Cruces NM. HW treatment is about $750 for me. (It was less for Mark because he was getting done via ARL and this girl would be treated at the vet I use.) please donate if you can. Pupdate on Mark: he doesn’t eat or take his meds well in boarding so that’s unfortunate . His leash lessons went ok today; this is leash lesson #3 and I’m so thankful that he’s doing this well. Yesterday was a lot of thrashing and unpleasantness. Can’t do anything with a dog that won’t walk on a leash, though, and they’re one of the first to get euthanized for behavior at shelters. Word of advice: leash train your dogs… fosters, personal dogs, whatever… just leash train them. Thank you to everyone that shared and donated on his post. His Heartworm treatment and neuter are covered and we’re very grateful. Thank you!
