Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day is celebrated annually on August 28th to honor and remember all pets that have passed away. The day is meant to be a time for reflection, gratitude, and love, and to celebrate the bond and joy that our fur babies bring to our lives. It's also an opportunity for healing and to remember that there is a hopeful reunion with our pets after they pass. 🌈🐾

Today is National Check the Chip Day! Did you know that 1 in 3 pets go missing at some point in their lives? Or that only 5 out of 10 microchips are even registered? This is a great opportunity for you to make sure that your pets microchip is up to date so that if your pet ever gets lost, you increased the chances of being reunited with them.

If your pet needs to be microchipped please make an appointment or come in as a walk in 🐾

1. Hydrate: Always provide fresh water for your pet.
2. Shade: Ensure your pet has a cool place to rest.
3. Never in Cars: Never leave pets in a parked car, or even with windows down.
4. Limit Exercise: Avoid outdoor activities during peak heat, or exercise indoors.
5. Paw Protection: Hot pavement can burn paws, walk during cooler times.

We are a couple of days away from July 4! If your pet gets stressed with loud celebrations or fireworks, consider getting sedatives or anti-anxiety medication now. Ask us about getting sedatives for your pet you will need to get a physical exam for your pets.

Heres some information on a**l gland expressions.🐶
•Anal glands are scent glands located around a dog's a**s and sphincter that produce a potent-smelling oily secretion.
• When dogs greet each other, they are smelling the secretion of their a**l glands. Each dog's secretion has a distinct scent.
• A dog has issues with their a**l glands when they become inflamed and unable to secrete enough of the fluid, causing the sacs to get too full
Treatment for full a**l glands involves manual expression by hand.
To Help your dog from scooting or getting an infection make an appointment fo have their a**l gland expressed or come im as a walk in.
