(11)

Howl-a-Day Inn (HADI) Dog Boarding & Daycare is a small kennel on the Westside providing the best individual care for your dogs in El Paso, TX. We're all-inclusive and don't charge extra for playtime, food, homemade snacks, treats, toys, giving medicine, or anything else your dog needs while away from home. HADI is staffed 24/7 for your dog's safety & well-being. We're locally-owned by Melina Garo

s, who has over 16 years' dog handling experience; she used to train Search & Rescue dogs for the Red Cross in Germany. Please give us a call at 915-355-7949 to schedule your kennel visit. We want to make sure that you have all the time you need to have all your questions answered. Our main priority here at HADI is to provide a safe and fun environment for your dog. We always strive to find the right doggie playmates, so your dog has fun and friends. We watch your dog closely to make sure his/her experience playing with others will be a great one. We make sure that any dogs who are not happy (shy, older, or fearful) hang out in playgrounds and will either have a yard to themselves, or share with just one other dog. We stand behind our philosophy: No dog deserves to be kept in a kennel during the day time! It is important to us to make sure your dog will have the chance to be in or around the “action” and not feel left out or lonely. We provide high quality & nutritious food and treats. We are constantly researching food recalls or treat recalls. After the last beef jerky recall, we started making our own dog jerkies and we cook a special menu on Holidays. For dogs who refuse to eat, or don’t have an appetite, we watch them carefully and try to do everything in our power so your dog will eat. We use different kinds of canned food that we mix together and we always have home cooked ground beef or chicken on hand. In some cases, we hand feed. Some of the precious dogs we board need medication on a regular basis. We make sure your dog won’t miss any of them by using our sign off sheets. Since we know that for some dogs boarding can be stressful and scary, we provide Kong toys in all sizes, filled with either peanut butter or cream cheese to keep your dog occupied and busy. Puzzle toys are also provided for mental stimulation. Our Facility provides a kennel environment and our boarding room is filled with crates of all sizes. We do want to make sure that every dog feels safe. Some of the babies we board are happy in the large kennel area and love to communicate with their neighbors in the evening, others feel and do better in a plastic or metal crate. All dogs have bedding which we provide. You are very welcome to also bring bedding and some toys from home, so your dog won’t feel too stressed out the first 1-2 days . Our experience has shown us that it takes around 2 days for your dog to adapt to a new routine. Many other facilities do not include the things we offer in their boarding fee and will charge extra. Our prices continue to include daycare, treats, food, treat toys, etc., but in order to stay in business and provide your dog with what we believe is necessary for a healthy and happy stay with us, we have to raise our prices. Our new daily prices effective June 1, 2022 are:
$35 - 1st dog
$32 - 2nd dog
$28 - 3rd dog

A 50% deposit of the total boarding fee must be paid at the time of reservation. If you cancel within 72 hours prior to your dogs stay, you will forfeit your deposit. Long-term boarder: 1 month $1,085 (all inclusive), pay at time of reservation, cancelation 5 days prior to the reservation, 50% will be not refundable. Owner also has to provide us with a copy of his/her driver’s license and credit card. (15% OFF Military discount available.) For the following holidays, the deposit required at the time of your boarding reservation is NOT refundable: Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's. Also, any early pick up during these holidays is not refundable. New Daycare fee is $24 per day.

Good Morning :)
Almost the first week done for 2024.
I bet, time will fly.
Every year I have the feeling the years are going by much faster :p
Well, yesterday was a crazy, windy day , and it was pretty cold and grey.
We did our in and outs for most of the time.
Today, it looks a little better.
So let's see how sunny it will stay today.
I also want to share ( finally) our New Years Treat for ALL dogs.
We prepared Sushi, of course Dog Friendly!
Just side note, I cooked the Sticky Rice in advance and froze it. Shouldn't have done it, because it was not really sticky anymore .

YEAH..... 2024
We want to give you a short update on our New years evening.
Everybody was safe and actually calm.
It was thankfully not as wild as 4th of July.
Yes, some dogs where a little surprised , but overall, most of our friends slept through.
One of my own dogs had some slight panic attacks.
I was up checking on everybody most of the night and just to make sure, also last night.
Everything worked out fine

We are wishing you a

HAPPY NEW YEAR, 🥳

and a great new beginning for 2024
That you won't have to many New Years Resolutions and that the New year will bring you
Peace , Love ,Happiness and the Strength to move obstacles out of your way

If I'm looking back, I have to say, after Covid , the world seemed to have chanced a little, but
I'm happy and thankful that Howl A Day in is still doing great!

THANKS TO ALL OF YOU ! ☺️

I wouldn't be where I'm at if it wasn't for the trust you put into my little place.
I could not imagine working somewhere else.
I love my little Island and all those Dogs I got to know over the years , and of course also their parents / owners.
What still hurts my heart, that the hope I had about less stray dogs did not came through. It seems it got worse.
So hopefully, this coming New Year, we will see a change.

I also want to say THANK YOU, to all those people who work and worked here!
It's not always easy work , but I believe it is a rewarding job. Our dogs are always happy for their special attention and the love they are receiving .

So with all that said,
Enjoy, stay safe,
KEEP YOUR DOGS INSIDE
with ID tag, comfy bed, a delicious chew and some calming music .
Don't drink and drive, your dog won't understand why you are not coming home

We will see you Next Year 🤩 🥳 🤩

Yup, we are preparing .
Thankfully we always have our tools ready.

We also have Thunder Shirts on hand.

FEROCIOUS FIREWORKS
I’ll be spending New Years Eve at home, in my pajamas, cuddled up with my dogs, as I always do.

Fireworks are something I dislike intensely. They are not only terrifying for so many different animals but are also dreaded by caring people, who have to watch, often helplessly as their dog suffers through the deafening bangs.

Shelters become overrun with lost dogs, dogs are knocked over by cars or go missing in their attempt to escape, they jump through glass windows, over high walls, have heart attacks, seizures or worse.

As there’s very little we can do to prevent other people from doing what they do, the best solution is to do all we can to minimize the impact this has on our dogs.

All dogs are different and there’s never a guarantee that these methods will work. Some dogs are just the way they are because of genetics, their experiences, learning history, health conditions, age etc.

Gloomy Days.
It's Winter in El Paso.
Yesterday, half of the day all dogs were inside. The wet weather and the cold is just something we all don't like to much.
I believe , nature is giving us a hint to slow down and we hope, you will have the time to do so.
We will slow down after the Holidays.
Today, is still kind of calm, but tomorrow and Saturday, we will see many of our furry Friends who will celebrate the Holidays with us.
Like every Christmas, all of the guests will enjoy a Special plate of home cooked food.
They all deserve it

Good Morning Friends of HADI :)
The last couple of days,it was a little quiet on our FB page .
Ha, but that doesnt mean we are not busy.
We are prepping for the Holidays , making sure every dog who will stay with us will have their place and their yards with friends or without friends.

We also are dealing , what I believe "dumped" dogs who were running on our street.
I think, people just let them run around our place in hopes we pick them up.
So in the last , ca. 10 weeks, 3 beautiful, sweet dogs found refuge here at HADI. All picked up on our street :(
First is little UNO . We think he is a Chi/Dachsen mix. 5 month old .
I got him neutered and he has his shots.
Destiny, Australian Shpherd /Husky mix, is still pretty shy around us people, but super sweet, not aggressive and does great with little Uno

Our Story

Howl-a-Day Inn (HADI) provides safe and secure boarding and training services, as well as daily doggy daycare Mon - Sat. We are locally owned by Melina Garos, who has over 14 years of dog handling experience. Before moving to the USA, she trained Search and Rescue dogs for the Red Cross in Germany.

Our main priority here at HADI is to provide a safe and fun environment for your dogs. We stand behind our philosophy that no dog deserves to be kept in a kennel during the day time. It is important to us to make sure your dog has plenty of opportunities to interact with both people and other dogs so they don’t feel bored, anxious, or lonely.

We strive to find the right canine playmates so your dog has fun and friends. We work with your dog to make sure his/her experience playing with others will be a great one. That means we watch your dog’s behavior closely, and train or work with him or her as needed. We make sure that any dog that is shy, older, or “aggressive” either has a yard all to themselves, or shares with just one other dog.

In addition, we provide high quality & nutritious food and treats. We are constantly researching food and treat recalls. After the last beef jerky recall, we started making our own dog treats, and we cook a special menu on holidays.
