Please be kind to our community cats this time of year! Our partners at Sun City Cats provide tips on how you can help and make a difference.
‼️Don’t forget to tap on your hoods before starting your vehicles‼️

Cats living outdoors face many dangers this time of year, including harsh weather, starvation and dehydration. Here’s a few things you can do to help.

1. Provide Shelter
Community cats need warm, dry, well-insulated spaces to survive winter weather. If you’re concerned about an outdoor colony, please help them by providing shelter.

There are many online videos, such as this one, which show how to easily make a cat shelter from items you probably have around the house like plastic storage totes or Styrofoam coolers.

2. Provide extra food and water.
Cats need more calories in winter as their bodies try to stay warm. Cats also face potential dehydration when water sources freeze.

3. Volunteer with Sun City Cats to Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) community cats to prevent more unwanted litters.

4. Help fundraise! The more cats we can trap and neuter to control the population, the better off all our Community Cats will be. All donations go directly to help cats living on the street in the El Paso community.

Our Animal Protection team recently worked on a cruelty case that resulted in finding this poor little one in horrible conditions. Their swift actions lead to the victim being removed. Thank you to one of our rescue partners Law N Paws Animal Rescue, they stepped in and pulled now know as Jake. Our team rushed him to their clinic where the staff immediately began working on him. Look at him now! He still has a long road to go but any donations can be made to help his medical journey 🙏🧡 Pleaae head to Law N Paws page to find out more on how to donate.

Thank you Walmart Neighborhood Market El Paso - Hondo Pass Dr for having our Rover team and El Paso Animal Services Field Protection team for this amazing event! Bringing awareness and working together as a community to help protect our pet community!

Store #5962 partnered with LAWS & PAWS and El Paso Animal Services for our National Night Out event! Not only were officers out educating the public about animal cruelty but also they were providing free microchipping for pets! It’s always a pleasure to support our local law enforcement but especially to help out our four legged friends!
