Another trainer that will be a part of this awesome event
Daniel Scavone C**t Starting & Horsemanship LLC
After getting out of the army, I started as a stable cleaner for an incredible dressage trainer. My focus was not on horses yet, but from working there I was able to pick up on a lot of information during lessons, clinics etc.
Next, a guest ranch in the Adirondack mountains, along with basic dressage and jumping lessons with some of my fellow employees. Here I was able to truly develop a decent seat, and feel, along with riding some snorty ones, my confidence on a horse was to a high degree.
Back to the dressage barn where I was able to assist in some of the young horses. And then the time came for more. I took my first training gig for a small private outfit outside of Houston Texas, riding the bosses personal horses and starting my first few youngsters along side the help of clinicians and teachers like, Julie Moore, Michael Goheen, john and cat parks and some off site dressage with Lonestar Sporthorses. My boss in Texas introduced me to the buckaroo style of horsemanship. I rode his foxtrotters, spotted saddle horses, some quarter horses and a gaited mountain horse, where I was 50-60 hrs a week in the saddle.
Next my personal journey began, where I went back to NY, branching out on my own as a trainer starting some young Hanoverian horses, and expanding my knowledge doing lessons and clinics as I could. I was introduced to some traditional vaquero style and classical dressage by my mentor, Patrick King and grew my knowledge from there as much as I could, attending clinics and sessions with horsemen like Brent Graef, C**ton Woods, and Patrick.
From there I worked a rodeo outfit in NY for two summers, managing the bulls, and the bucking horses on 300-400 acres where I was able to work more on my personal, two-rein horse Jack, as we rotated pastures.
Coming to Oklahoma, we rented a facility in El Reno for a while where the owner had around 150 head of cows, where I was able to train and instruct every type of horse, rider, and owner. Not to mention work with some decently wild cattle!
Some short internships, and a classical dressage school owned by master Senor Luis Valenca, my style has been molded for the better.
Through the vaquero/buckaroo & classical dressage mentors, I have developed a program to fit any level of horse and rider, taking an empathetic approach to feel, timing, and a true understanding of the horses physical and mental well-being.
I look forward to what comes next!
