🌟 Exciting News! 🌟

We’re thrilled to announce that we will be hopefully fully reopening at the beginning of the new year! 🎉

We will be closed 12-24-24 & 12-25-24 and 1-1-25

In the meantime, out of concern for the health and well-being of our animals, we will continue to operate with limited services. For now, dog adoptions will be available by appointment only.m Please submit applications prior to coming to look at dog/dogs you would like to adopt.

Thank you for your understanding and support as we prioritize the care of our furry friends. We can’t wait to welcome you all back soon! 🐾

More details & background about "TAMMY"

Tammy came to use with her 4 other siblings. Imagine being so young and full of life, only to find yourself abandoned and alone. That’s the heartbreaking reality these five sweet puppies faced. Uprooted from the only life they knew, they were cruelly dumped and left to fend for themselves, too small and vulnerable to understand why the world had turned its back on them.

Their story took a turn for the better when a Good Samaritan spotted them and made the call that saved their lives. Thanks to the quick action of the Sheriff’s Department, these little ones were brought to our shelter, where they’re finally safe, warm, and fed.

Despite everything they’ve been through, these puppies are overflowing with love, trust, and hope. They’re playful, cuddly, and ready to begin a new chapter filled with care and compassion. Each of these tiny tails deserves a forever home where they’ll never have to feel abandoned again.

🐾Cheddar is a young female cat that was brought to GCHS as a Stray. She is friendly although is OK being left alone as well. Cheddar has been at GCHS for over a year and is still searching for her forever home. Adoption Fee $125.00.

🐾Crash is a sweet 9 years old Basset Hound searching for her forever retirement home! Crash requires a special prescription diet and will need to be on it the rest of her life. Despite her special diet, she is such a loving beautiful dog, searching for her forever retirement home! Adoption Fee: $225.00

🐾Chitter: This big boy is a sweetheart, who loves to talk. He's a little shy at first but is a love bug when he warms up. Chitter came in with two other cats due to owner having to move. He is looking for a home with lots of love to give him. Adoption Fee: $125.00

Stray female chocolate lab brought in by a local Good Samaritan who found it running down the highway south of Chokio with two other large dogs, one resembled a husky or shepherd type dog. They ran off.
No collar when picked up. No microchip. Very friendly. Please call the shelter at 218-685-6220 if you can help us find the owner. If not claimed in five days she will be vetted and availabe for adoption.
