‼️ URGENT: FOSTER OR ADOPTIVE HOME NEEDED FOR LILY ‼️

Lily is a loving dog who gets along with other dogs and people including kids. Shes a wonderful companion.

She was in a foster home but her foster is nearing the end of her pregnancy and can no longer foster her. They have loved having her there.

She went to a new foster home recently but one of the dogs at her new foster is not a fan of her and she’s a little overwhelmed.

She needs a bit of a calmer place to go with another dog who likes to play.

Lily would love a foster home or a family for the holidays (she is posted for adoption).

⭐️ Can you give Lily a Happy Holiday season outside of boarding? Please send us an email at [email protected] if interested in fostering or adopting. ⭐️

We provide everything you need to foster including food, vetting, crates, leashes, etc.

🐶FOSTER NEEDED FOR CLARICE 🐶

Clarice is about 6 months old and unfortunately has had a few seizures. The vets are working to get her medication levels figured out, but as she grows, the dosage needs to be adjusted.

Her current foster lives far away from our vet offices and is a first time foster so as you can imagine the situation is very stressful and overwhelming.

She’s a sweet girl (she’s also adorable!)

If you are willing to open your home to Clarice, please email us at [email protected] as soon as possible.

We provide everything you need to foster including vetting, a crate, leash, food, etc.

Meet Barney and Bambi: A Bonded Pair Searching for Their New Beginning

Barney and Bambi are two deeply loved dogs who have spent their lives bringing joy and comfort to their owner. Sadly, their owner is now seriously ill and unable to care for them, and Safe Haven has been entrusted with the important mission of finding these sweethearts a foster or forever home where they can live out their days together.

Barney is a gentle, wise senior at 17 years young. With his laid-back and affectionate personality, he’s happiest when snuggled up for a nap or quietly enjoying your company. He’s a daycare favorite, making friends easily with both humans and other dogs.

Bambi, the younger of the two at 10 ½, is full of life and love despite living with congestive heart failure. He’s doing great on his medication, showing no signs of discomfort. Bambi’s cheerful, playful nature and affectionate demeanor light up every room he enters. Like Barney, he’s a social butterfly, delighting in making new friends at daycare.

Together, Barney and Bambi are the perfect pair—inseparable, loyal, and endlessly charming. Whether they’re sharing a cozy bed, looking for their next treat, or mingling with their daycare buddies, their bond and resilience shine through. Though they’re understandably a bit confused by the recent changes in their lives, they’ve shown incredible adaptability and continue to spread love wherever they go.

Barney and Bambi are looking for a home where they can stay together, offering their new family unconditional love and endless cuddles. Could you be the one to give this amazing duo the second chance they deserve?

To foster or adopt Barney and Bambi, please reach out to Safe Haven today!

Meet Thor – Your New Best Buddy!

Hi, I’m Thor, but my foster moms also call me Buddy because I’m such a good friend! I’m a 3-month-old mixed breed with loads of personality and an endless supply of love to share.

About Me:
I love to play with dogs of all sizes and have even met a few cats! While they don’t play much, they let me sniff them, and I’ve done really well.
When I’m not playing, I’m all about cuddling and napping. My favorite spot is behind my foster moms’ legs, but snuggling with my dog foster sisters is a close second.
Why I’m So Smart:
I already know how to sit and am learning commands like no, come, and stay.
I’m a pro with puppy pads and am so close to being fully potty trained. My foster moms think I’ll learn even faster if my forever family uses bells to help me signal.
I’m great on a leash and love exploring with my humans!
My Sleeping Habits:
I’m still getting used to sleeping in a crate without my siblings, so I cry a little at bedtime. But once I fall asleep, I’m out for the whole night!
On special occasions, I’ve been allowed to sleep in my foster moms’ bed, and I’m a perfect gentleman—no accidents and I stay by their side all night long.
My Friendly Nature:
I’m extremely friendly and love meeting all kinds of humans and animals. I’m a pro at giving snuggles, kisses, and cuddles—my foster moms say I give the best kisses back!

Bonus:
I get a little chilly sometimes, but my foster moms got me a holiday sweater, and I love showing it off.

I can’t wait to meet my forever family and shower them with love, cuddles, and my big puppy heart.

Ready to meet me? Email us at [email protected] for an application or more information. Let’s make this holiday season the start of our forever story!

🌟 Happy Sunday, Everyone! 🌟

We are seeking an URGENT foster for Lily! This sweet girl recently moved to a new foster home, but unfortunately, the resident dog isn’t a fan. Lily is a loving dog who gets along well with other dogs and humans, and she’s also posted for adoption.

🏡 Can you offer her a temporary or forever home? 🏡

🐾 About Lily:
Gets along well with other dogs and kids
A wonderful companion who just needs a safe and loving space

🚨 Why We Need Help Now:
Lily’s first foster family adores her but is facing overwhelming circumstances:

They are fostering two dogs, including Margot, who is entering a critical phase of her heartworm treatment next week and will require strict rest and monitoring.
The foster is also managing their own dog, two small kids, and navigating their third trimester of pregnancy.
Despite their love for Lily, they urgently need someone to step in before the holiday weeks begin to provide her with the care and attention she deserves.

💖 Lily’s next chapter depends on your help! If you can foster her or are interested in adoption, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

📧 Email us at [email protected] for an application or additional details. Let’s work together to give Lily the loving home she needs.

Please share this post to help us find a safe and supportive environment for Lily as soon as possible. Thank you for your kindness and support!

💕Foster Needed💕

Porschia is ready to move on to a foster home of her own.

Momma Porschia has done a fantastic job of taking care of her puppies these last four weeks. Even allowing her foster to help care for the puppies in tandem with her and always trusting her foster and knowing they were a team.

At just 13 months old herself she wants to be done with all the adulting and get back to being a carefree puppy where her only care is which toy she will play with next.

Porschia is a very loving dog who loves people.

She was extremely underweight when she arrived, but with small frequent meals, she is starting to gain much needed weight.

Portia has the softest fur and the most kind eyes. She greets you with lots of tail wags, and kisses whenever you come home.

This sweet girl is potty trained, and crate trained. It may take a little coaxing to get her into the crate but once she is in, she settles fast. Her foster usually just throws some treats towards the back as she is very food motivated.

She does not chew on anything other than her own toys. Porschia also knows what a leash is for and loves to take walks. She hasn’t mastered leash training yet but has come a long way in the last month.

She would greatly benefit from a yard where she can run and play fetch.

Sweet Porschia just needs a quiet place to heal and recoup her girlie figure now that she is done nursing.

Can you open your home to this loving baby girl?

🐶Meet Lily 🐶

Hi, I’m Lily! I’m a 1 year old pointer mix who is 48 lbs. I am still energetic but also affectionate with so much love to give. I recently made a life-saving journey from a Texas kill shelter after I was left there for being too big (despite being 48 pounds). I came to my foster family in Illinois, and I couldn’t be more grateful for this second chance. I’m full of resilience, charm, and excitement to meet my forever family.

So far, I haven’t met many strangers outside of my foster family, but when I arrived, I was instantly curious and excited to introduce myself. My foster family includes an adult male, two adult females, a 4-year-old boy, and a 3-year-old girl. I get along with everyone, including the little ones who love to shower me with pets and scratches—as long as they’re gentle with me.

I also share my home with two doggy foster siblings—an older, bigger male dog and a younger, smaller female one. I love roughhousing and wrestling with both of them, but I need my family to help regulating my energy so playtime doesn’t get too rowdy.

I enjoy chewing on toys and bones, but I like having my own space during chew time because I can get a little possessive because I’m still learning I will always have food. Sometimes, I do get jealous when I see my foster siblings getting attention, but a little reassurance is all I need to remember there’s plenty of love to go around.

When I hear or see other dogs outside, I can’t help but bark and become intrigued. With a quick reminder that everything is ok, I’m back to minding my own business. Meeting new dog friends on a walk is the best way for me to slowly get to know them.

Affection is my love language! I’m a total cuddlebug who loves giving hugs, resting my head on your lap or chest, sharing kisses, and snuggling up whenever I can. There’s no limit to the amount of love and cuddles I’m ready to share, so don’t hold back—I’ll return the favor. I can also relax on my own if you’re busy by napping nearby while you watch TV or work. But if you move, I’ll follow you everywhere like your shadow to keep you company.

I need an active family to help me with daily exercise. A fenced yard would be amazing for running around and getting my zoomies out, and daily walks (or even runs) are a must for me! I’m still learning leash manners and sometimes pull because I’m so excited to explore. With patience and a few breaks to settle down, I know I’ll get the hang of it. I’d love to go on adventures in the car, play fetch in the yard, or just explore the world by your side.

I’m working on basic commands like “sit,” “drop it,” and “off,” and I respond really well to treats, which makes training more fun for both of us. I’m a smart and eager learner, so with consistent guidance, I know I’ll keep making progress.

I’m also working on being fully house-trained. I still have occasional accidents in my crate if left for a long time. With consistent eating and potty schedule, I will improve every day. Positive reinforcement, like treats and praise for going potty outside, builds my confidence and keeps me motivated.

I currently eat twice a day—in the morning and at night—in my crate to separate me from others. I also use my crate when no one is home and at bedtime (with a bed inside), and while it’s not my favorite place by any means (I sometimes complain for a few minutes but settle down), a treat or toy to distract me before going in helps me settle down.

I’d thrive in a family that is home often and maybe another dog. I need someone who’s willing to invest time and patience I deserve in my ongoing training and learning. In return, I’ll fill your life with unconditional love, joy, and endless cuddles.

If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion to share your adventures and brighten your days, I just might be the perfect match! Apply to meet me today!

Meet Cedrick, or more affectionately known as “Rocco” by his foster family.
Rocco is a 38 # black/tan/white mix, and is the epitome of a "Good boy"! He loves pets and belly rubs. He is gentle with the kids (ages 5 and 7) in his foster home. He has so much love to give! He has soulful and intelligent eyes, floppy ears, and the squishiest little face. Have you seen his little diamond eyebrows?!
Rocco really loves the company of people and other dogs. He will either sit close by and within view, or will spring into playtime when he sees an opportunity to engage.

Rocco can be headstrong or demonstrate “selective hearing,”. He loves being outdoors and does not always like coming into the house when playtime is over. Rocco isn’t a big fan of his crate, but will go in with some encouragement and yummy treats. When he’s first let out of his crate, he runs around with so much delight and pep that he can jump up and push over little ones, so caution should be taken by having adults lead the way.

Rocco sits nicely to have his paws wiped after going outside. He knows “sit,” “down,” “come,” and “leave it.” He is learning when treats are “all done” and he won’t get any more. Toys are new to him; it seems that he only had access to cardboard boxes and catalogs in the past, so he will happily help you shred your Amazon box for the recycling bin. Rocco loves balls and sticks the most, but is exploring his new bonafide toy variety! He is a rough chewer, and since he still has some adolescent tendencies, needs to be kept occupied with interesting toys and positive activities, or else he will get into things he shouldn’t. He will easily search out and remove squeakers from stuffed toys. Rocco would love puzzle toys, and would likely excel at agility or nose work to keep his mind and body active.

Rocco is very strong, and is evenly matched when he romps with his 70 # foster sister. He plays nicely with his 9 # foster sister, who lets him know if he gets too rough. Rocco is very intelligent and adventurous, and loves to run and occasionally parkour off of items in his foster family’s back yard. Rocco also loves water: he has taken a dip into the local stream, and enjoys getting baths.

Rocco is working on leash walking. He walks well at the heel about 50% of the time, but when he is distracted or sees an interesting critter (small animals), he will pull. He is very interested when the smaller resident pet birds flap and fly, but is listening well to “leave it” and is making great progress.

When he’s all worn out, he enjoys lounging on the couch and snuggling with his people and foster sisters. Rocco hasn’t had house accidents as long as he’s kept on a schedule and is walked/let out after meals and before bedtime.

Rocco loves snuggling at the foot of the bed or next to his foster family at night. He turns into the cutest circles to find his cozy spot near his person!

Rocco is finishing up his heartworm treatment and will soon be ready to be adopted into his forever family!

Our standard adoption fee is $375 cash or check and $385 credit card ($10 processing fee). .
