Day 1 Cowboy Clinics in Elgin Texas. Commencing basic farrier education. How to identify proper farrier care, what to look for with angles and hiring a competent farrier. All of our students get to have taste of trimming, filing and shaping the hoof, so they get an appreciation for the skill, strength and patience it takes to be a good farrier.

We got a couple of steers back from the processor yesterday. We experimented with a new program so weren't quite sure what to expect with the finished product. These are mini/midsize Heritage Herefords that were grass fed with rotational grazing methods and slow growth. We did a textured corn blend feed and alfalfa added the last 6 months. Between 2-3 yrs old. These cattle lived naturally with plenty of space to move. Low pressure life with shelter from storms, fly control, clean water and a clean environment to live in. *Low stress = tender beef*

We only work with butchers that will allow a full day to rest and relax after hauling. We believe this is important to allow the adrenaline to settle out and not affect the finished product. We dry aged the beef for a minimum of 12 days. Extremely happy with the fat cap, marbling and overall appearance.The taste is clean, mild but beefy and so tender. This beef is as tender as HEB prime and can be cut with a butter knife. I'd put this beef up against any prime steak house!

She conducts horsemanship and cow working clinics all over North America and at her ranch in Wyoming. Trina's years of ranching experience has led to a common sense approach to keeping cattle and horses smooth and willing. In the cow working - you will work on everything and she will meet you where you are at in your journey. This is a chance to learn how to start your horse on cattle all the way to fine tuning a seasoned cutter or ranch horse. Trina offers ways to work cattle with the least amount of stress on the herd and your horse, learn how to read cattle and understand proper positioning to become fluid and cowy. * this clinic is open to all levels of riders and disciplines*

ISO: 15-20 head of fresh calves, heifers or steers for working horses on for clinics. NO ROPING or rough handling. We have young horses and beginner riders that need to learn how to work one. No soured-up ex ropers please. Looking for a weight gain deal or something similar. Need for the month of April to start. Clean, safe environment, shelter and will feed them for a gain.

7inches of rain, all at once, is no problem when your entire propery is 3 ft deep of gorgeous,white sugar- sand. No mud, no slipping, no rocks, no losing shoes or work boots caked in mud globs. Horses have as much turn-out as they want, which is 24/7 unless its some kind of extreme weather. Pastures have standing water yet can ride them in a rain storm with zero problem. Trailers are always accessible. Horses are never muddy. This sand has spoiled us all!

Erin Burch you are going to make me cry saying things like this. Thank you so much for the social media love and always being supportive of our little business. We have loved having you and Steely Dan at the barn. Like i said before, ill never forget the day your boy walked up to.me and put his head in the halter. It was magical.

We arent perfect. We believe in taking the best care of every animal on property and try our hardest to always do whats needed to keep happy and healthy horses.

You own your own baording facility and to have you give such a lovely review makes my heart smile. Thank you!

Lewis Equine LLC will be hosting a Sorting Clinic on Saturday February 11th from 10am -2pm. Lunch provided. Covered arena. $150 per person/$20 to audit. We only have 2 spots left! 3 RV hook-ups left for any overnighters.

This clinic is open to all levels of riders. Supportive, encouraging environment. This sport is fun for all disciplines. Current coggins required and checked. Individual practice/instruction AFTER clinic with clinician. Fresh cattle. Family friendly.

Meet some of our lesson horses at the Elgin Facility. .

1)Big black is called "Tex" and is 30 years old. He is for our advanced students looking for a safe but more challenging ride. He has alot of pep in his step for old guy and doesnt seem to be slowing down anytime soon. Smooth and fun!
2) Gray is "Fritz" and he is a 24 yr old registered AQHA that came off the in Laredo.
3) Bigger gray is 21 yrs old and named "Dually" and he came with Fritz off .
4) Brown with chrome Registered 7 yr old AQHA mare named "Bellini" and is bred, trained and owned by Bradshaw at BlackCursiveBarrelHorses. She is fancy, fancy broke and is here for the season to help us out with our lesson program.

All of these horses are safe, kind and so easy to be around. We keep our elder horses on a premium senior diet, daily Prevacox to help with arthritus, deep soft sand in their oversized stalls and get all the medical care they need. None of these guys need injections yet, are sound and move out with ease. They are fat and happy!
