Can I have your attention please!
Aruban Takota needs to find his forever family. I am completely out of boarding space and he is tired of being the 5th wheel here.
Takota is a tall legged dude that really has such a big heart. He is good with everybody. Desperate for pets. He will twist himself any way possible for you to make contact with him. He is calm in the house and goofy in the yard. Has beautiful eyes, still trotts like a puppy and is simply a fun dog to have. No aggression over food or toys he is suited to be with children. He allows the smallest puppy to knock him over. Such a kind soul.
10 months old, neutered , all core vaccines, dewormed. Ready, set , go… please share him.

Merry, merry Christmas.
Unfortunately, I have no Christmas pictures from the crew today as I was very sick yesterday, but getting better today. Luckily, I had help yesterday.
I hope you all are safe wherever you may have traveled to, enjoy time with your family and take a moment to just be. Enjoy your fancy meals. I won’t be eating today:)

Obviously with Holiday busyness adoptions are not moving right now.
I like to plan ahead. Have things lined up, so I don’t need to stress up last minute.

I need fosters starting end of January.
All things and expenses are covered by the rescue.
Takota has a foster pending resident dog test, but needs a fill in for a short week end of February.

Enrique has a foster that cannot get enough of him, but may need a fill in, if they have stuff going on.

Ernesto needs a full time foster, if not adopted before.

Norma could stay here, but I know she would be much happier with people that pay attention to her.

I have a transporter bringing three Aruba dogs tonight from Orlando Florida airport. More on those lucky pups later. She is taking plastic crates that I have collected back to Florida so they can get shipped with other volunteers to rescue in Aruba. Plastic crates are extremely expensive on Aruba and getting them back there is super difficult. So today is a blessing of this transporter agreeing to bring those cages back to Florida so they can get shipped. If you have plastic crates that you have no used for I might be able to add them to the pile. But they would need to be here no later than 5 PM today or I keep them and hope for another lucky day in the near future.

Happy chilly Chicago morning.

I am asking all Thursday regulars to please move their daycare day to Friday. It's will be about 68 degrees colder than Aruba.
If you do need daycare Thursday, your dog does need to come with a jacket. My dogs will be here, the Aruban pups will be here, but I think it would be best to skip Thursday.

If you have been here for grooming in the past, you may know my helper Breana who has been with me for over 10 years.
Her car was taken in front of her place two nights ago. I-pass info suggests this car is now in Chicago. I am so mad at these crooks that don't think twice and be robbing nice people.

Her grandma gave her this car. Her grandma passed three weeks ago. Such a hard loss. Chances are she will never see that car again. This very much sucks as she has to get to work far from Elgin. Does anybody have two good condition toddler car seats to share? Maybe even a car to sell?

Thank you to all my clients that made 16 years in business possible!!
For those that do not know me long enough. After my lay off from Motorola in 2007 heading into the recession, I could not find another corporate job.
Having two toddlers by myself and no other family members in the US, I had to really come up with a solution to not go under.

My grandfather who trained German Shepherd and Bouvier des Flandres for the German Army taught me a few things and I ran with it. I attended grooming school in Arlington Heights and opened my own business out of my front room in the house in College Green.
Grooming is very taxing on the body when you groom a dozen dogs a day and joints were just starting to break apart. In 2016 I found this lovely nature property and changed my focus from grooming to dog daycare, boarding and helping people understand and train their dogs.
Most of you have been with me since the beginning.
It's an honor to care for your pups!
