Sweetie was given another day for somebody to come through for her !!!!
I don't think she has a name and in 4 hours a name would not serve her anyways. This white pretty sweet girl is on the kill list today. She is only 6 months old. In order to save her, I need an adopter ( and $420 for her boarding and traveling)
How sweet is this?!?! This is Dinah’s sister Dory, now Nena in her new forever home in CT.
Can you please donate a few dollars so when I get to Aruba, I can jump into action with whatever situation presents itself.
Today I saw a post of a woman posting her puppies with malformed legs asking for puppy food and help with X-rays. You know that stuff makes me so angry.
These kind of situation are so easily prevented. One seemed to be so deformed it did not have front legs.
But being angry with people does not help the dogs in need one bit. So I need to take a deep breath and put my blinders on and focus on the welfare of the dogs and cats.
Please help by sending a small donation to
Zelle, PayPal or Venmo to [email protected].
$5 buys two wet food cans that some dogs will just slurp up like candy. Let’s make their day.
Some of you have asked what I need for the dogs in Aruba.
Anything to test and build their strength and blood levels would be greatly appreciated. I also hope to bring some bite gloves and a muzzle for those scared dogs that need to be picked up.
And if you won a million dollars it would be great to get a big trap to catch those that unsocialized, but need to be caught to get them fixed. It is for mine as much as for their safety. We want them to struggle as little as possible.
I also need a few things for Dinah while she is with the foster. Some puppy food, snacks, vet wrap for the paw, colloidal silver to brush her teeth, because the gums are still inflamed.

Sadie came to me, because she does not like strangers. Nor does she appreciate being approached by other dogs. Lounging, barking, running the fence line like a werewolf, all kinds of things.
It’s just fear based behavior, not aggression. Last months when I met her for an evaluation she would stay good 30 feet away from me. Total avoidance. Even when I stood next to her mom, she wouldn’t go back to her mom.
We are working TOGETHER to help Sadie to become a more confident and happier dog.
Dog owners do need to do their part at home. Don’t expect to drop off a dog at a trainer and get it back fixed, if you don’t put the time into it, the dog will fail.
Sadie is lucky that her parents totally get it.
Sadie has come a long way. Today was a good day. She came out of the car with a slightly wagging tail instead of hiding in it and doing the army crawl.
She no longer does the stress panting.
She took a treat from me for the first time today and we buddied up. Aaaand, although she is not playing yet, she is able to be right in the middle of the group without pancaking. She makes eye contact and I get slight tail wags when walking her.
Mac is still missing. 💔
There is a huge reward offered for his return.
When is YOUR birthday?
Look what Poppy’s mom did for my rescue pups.
She used her birthdate numbers as a $ goal to reach.
Can I get you to do the same?
You can make a big impact without paying anything.
Just create a fundraiser for your birthday and add Doggy Has Soul Sanctuary as the recipient.
It’s really easy to do. After 30-45 days Facebook will pay the donations that your friends and family made directly into the rescue account.
Such an easy way to help.
Thank you Hayley. That was such a nice gesture.
And thank you for your husband to top it off.❤️
The internet left me hanging again this morning. Not that Ring ever works properly anyways.
If I don’t show up to check you in, please beep your car.
I don’t want you to be late for work.
Happy Gotcha Day!
Gorgeous Etta ( formerly Vegas from San Marcos, TX ) was adopted from me one year ago. Etta had a lot of energy and no manners. This family had worked extremely hard with her to become a nicely trained dog. I love these stories. ❤️❤️
Thanks to everybody who helped make her rescue happen.
Check out is tomorrow 8-10am only.
No daycare!
Enjoy your Labor Day!
Let me catch up with the Aruba landfill puppy story.
So much happening.
Luckily, we had found a nice foster for Dinah and Dory in Aruba right away. Sylvia did great in updating me and showing these girls that humans can actually be nice. They were so damn miserable with that life had thrown at them. They were absolutely showered with love and spoiled with healthy snacks. Their smiles and spark came back. So much actually that Dory now needs to go on a diet or she won’t be able to fly out by end of next week.
Dinah landed here on Monday I will make a special post of the special girl with her broken bones.
Fostering helps rescues to take on dogs they didn’t plan on rescuing. All expenses paid. At least with Doggy Has Soul Sanctuary. I heard of other rescues putting the daily expenses on the foster. No wonder nobody would say yes.
These girls got very lucky. Very, very lucky.
Please continue to help me safe abandoned dogs. 🙏
Good morning,
Thanks everybody for the well wishes. I was to darn exhausted to respond the last two days.
DHI is back open starting at 7am for daycare.
After I received your dog I will disinfect your leash and leave it out for pick up. I will bring your dog out on my personal leash to return it to you and you can just hook yours yourself.
Nobody needs my concert flu, but it was worth the concert:)
DHI will be back open tomorrow for daycare, but now the phone is not working. I cannot win this week.
I am sorry, I will need another day to come back around. There will be no daycare, tomorrow Tuesday 8/27.
Sorry, no daycare today. I am here and will accept you, if that screws you up, but I am not well. Thank you!
Dinah, the Aruba puppy with the broken bones and jaw has a date with a flight volunteer next Monday 8/26.
Can I find a volunteer to get her Monday 9pm from O’hare or Tuesday sometime near travelers home in Antioch to bring her to Doggy Has It?!!
She is only 12lbs. Looks bigger here.
I will pay for your gas.
Sweet boy got rescued!!!!
Does anybody want to be on my foster hero list???
Norma has a spot to go next month.
Brittney Spears has a spot to go next month
Dinah has a spot to go next month
There is a new pup on the kill list.
I call him Bobby.
I cannot pull him unless I have a solid foster for him.
Time is ticking.
Happy Wednesday!
I talked another client into going to Aruba in a few months 😄😄😄
That means I need more suitcases to stuff supplies into. My last transport volunteer came all the way from the southern suburbs and picked up a full suitcase of stuff.
I spent the evening before pushing all the pills out of the unnecessary packaging. Look at that pile.
I am so grateful for your expired meds and monetary donations.
Not only did she come here to pick up the suitcase, added a lot of items from the Amazon wishlist, she paid the luggage fee and made a very generous donation on my vet account in Aruba.
And ran around the island like I do feeding every street dog that she encountered on the way to dinners and beaches.
To top it off, I got another donation ( Thank you Seamus ladies) of tennis balls, worth 2 suitcases.
Christy, next time we go together.
Dinah and Dory went back to the vet yesterday to get their shots. More about them soon.
Really need help with these young girls. Rescue pays all expenses. You just provide a place to crash!
have a flight volunteer that can bring Dinah and possibly Dory too to Chicago 8/26.
Those opportunities do not come around very often.
Since I will be leaving less than a month later myself, I do need a solid foster for them here or I cannot bring them.
The foster in Aruba is awesome, but they need to come here to get ready for adoption.
Chances of them getting adopted in Aruba are as high as an iceberg cruising by that island.
They still need to shake off the scary experiences of the last weeks leading to them being trapped and now learning that they are in a safe spot.
Just like Nina I am positive they will be able to snap out of that mind set. These girls are about 6 months old now and only 11-12lbs. Tiny girls.

I have to get on a conference call tomorrow with a vet in Aruba about little Dinah’s surgery. Can we please do check in/ check out tomorrow 8-9:30am. So I can get on that call? Look how she is munching. Her mouth must be feeling much better. Thank you
Hiya, I am heading to Chicago Saturday for an all day dog training seminar. Nope Norma is not going. That training is for highly aggressive dogs and being just sassy does not qualify. It’s going to be mind blowing and jaw dropping. I went last year as well to the same trainer. I know it’s going to be good. Dogs that enter the room willing to fight a Tiger and plow everything in its path down, will be little angels within 4.5 minutes with that trainer. I will take videos. Anyways, that means check in will only be 8-9am please. My helper will be here, but not doing check ins. Thank you.
Story to come, but first I need help with names for these Aruban puppies, 3 girls and 3 boys. Needs to start with these letters. Other suggestions welcome or pick one of these. M for Mia or Miko O for Orie or Oprah D for Dash or Didi A for Arlo or Akiva N for Nelly or Niko Z for Zina or Zivo First three pics are the girls.
It is transport day. All pups are loaded up and will arrive here tomorrow. Thank you everybody who instantly donated to Loki’s spot on the PINK Happy Tail van. Thank you Nick from San Marco’s shelter to get him there on time this morning.
Ready for adoption!!!! Brittney Spears with those Sheperd ears and cutest white tip on the tail did not come down with kennel cough from the shelter and is out of isolation now. She is is such a pleasant puppy. No barking in the kennel, tries to do the right thing, but still has lots to learn. She is a cute happy and kind girl that will probably be around 45 lbs fully grown. Will get some better pictures of her, but wanted to show how nicely behaved she is in the group. Manners training starts this weekend. Really would like to find a great home for her quickly, so I can make room for another sweetie.
This is how dogs have the best fun being in their element with room to speed up and stretch. Regular daycare pups have more fun. Those with good recall get upgraded to the big yard.
ACS kill list survivor Brittney Spears aka Lucie has arrived. Thanks for everybody who came on time to check out early from daycare today so I could meet the PINK Happy Tsils transport. What a sweetie. She came out of the van and did her business right away. Came happily over to me immediately. Wanted snuggles right away. This is a sweet soul. She is younger than they said. She still got her baby teeth. Welcome to the Doggy Has Soul Sanctuary pack. Oh my heart is happy. She is going to be a joy to see her grow up into an awesome dog. She will be available for adoption after she sees the vet next week. Looking for a foster for her🥰 Please help with a donation to [email protected] via Zelle, PayPal or Venmo. She needs to see the vet. Some bones in her paw are broken and maybe some more damage in a be of the hind legs possibly from a car accident. Thank you!!
Pretty please!!! I need a lonely human sweetheart for a canine sweetheart❤️ Pecan’s foster is traveling for 4 days starting tomorrow evening or Thursday am. I need a volunteer who would let her crash at their house until Monday am . Needs to be a household with no other dogs as she is still not over her sniffles. She was supposed to come here, but I cannot put her in boarding like this around other dogs. She is very sweet and easy and calm. She will be no trouble in anyway. Who can help please. She just needs a place to sleep that’s what she does most of the day.
And I also stopped by Franky the Banana Man! I am so, so happy that he is a really nice guy. Meaning the foster and I really do not need to put extra work into him. He started his heartworm protocol and has a bit of ear irritation trouble, but all will be well soon. He is ready for adoption. He is people and dog friendly and just a big goof. He only met me twice so far and look how sweet he is. If you want to apply for him, please text me to send you an adoption questionnaire. Samson, aka Sam is also a Doggy Has Soul boy!
Visited my foster pups this weekend. Pecan is feeling better. Antibiotics are working, but also wrecking her gut. So we may be changing the meds to give the tummy a break. She was supposed to an easy rescue story. Hope from here on all will be better. Pecan will he ready to meet adopters here at DHI next weekend.
Jango❤️ Senior on ACS kill list. Needs a pacemaker. Heartworm positive ( treated with slow kill protocol) . Had all odds against her and still found love. Jango is enjoying life to the fullest. Don’t pass up a dog, because it “isn’t perfect”. Doggy Has Soul Sanctuary loves those imperfect ones!
Daycare check in/checkout times 7-9 AM and 4:30PM to 6 PM. I was working with this group last week on settling down, getting along and sharing treats. Manners do matter here. And then somebody showed up early and that’s when the barking started and everybody is getting confused. If I’m out with such a big crowd it’s really hard to bring them all in and put them in the kennel safely just to do one check out. If you can avoid picking up early, please do so. If you have to pick up early, please give me a heads up so I can remove your dog from the group before you get here. It is very disruptive to the group because now they are focused on finding out who is at the door instead of continuing their play time.. Thank you.
!!!!!Volunteers needed!!!!! We had a visitor last weekend and Norma and Nina acted very much in stranger danger mode. They are so used to just being with me, it’s not good for them. I need volunteers that take them for a quick walk in the back or sit up front just hanging out with them being a treat dispenser. The more people the better. It can be 10 minutes it can be half an hour. If they have an adopter come for a meet and greet and act so defensive it’s not going to be good. By the way. I am playing with the idea of a self wash station for days like this.
My three Aruban Cunucu’s are together one more time. Transport seemed kinda rougher on Poppy then on Nina. She was pretty shaken up and also not interested to cooperate with my friends bringing her to my house on Wednesday. When she recognized me in the parking lot she let that all go and wagged her cute little nub again. First day Norma and Nina wanted nothing to do with her. Now they are back to letting her play the mommy role. Poppy has a family coming today to meet her. We all hope it goes well. The kids are very excited and already send me videos. Nina and Norma are still up for adoption, not because they have no interest, but because I am so picky for their future home of the next 15 years. Its all nice folks that applied, but I don't want these young dogs caged all day long. I don't want Norma to be without a playmate. Nina is not a candidate for a busy household with kids. I could have adopted them out weeks a go, but I don't just want a home for them. I want THAT home for them. It will come. Maybe that special somebody can see in this video how much joy Nina in her innocent mind is. Or how much fun it would to have them in their home together. They are best buddies. Nina is a young dog, but not as much work as a puppy at all. Norma is sassy pants and all over the place. Nina is quite, content with whatever is going on outside or nap time inside and does all her business outside. Norma has a lot to say at times.
Healthy and well broke horses.
