LongMile Aussies Just everyday people with super awesome Aussies. We promote healthy, genetically tested, home raised toy, mini, standard Aussies. Temperament is a top priority.

We critique all our dogs, a pet is a pet and only the best get to show or breed. ASDR and AKC Miniature American Shepherd All my dogs receive the best care and are fully immunized, on a strict worming schedule. All pups receive an early Parvo vaccine and a 5 way immunization prior to leaving our home. We register through American Stock Dog Registry and American Kennel Club. Pet only registration p

apers are always available on our pups if desired. We have a spay\neuter program for all pets. We are proud to share parents pedigree, proof of OFA and genetic testing. Our goal is to produce healthy purebred dogs with that will live a long healthy life and are willing to stand behind that with a replacement pup for the first 5 years. I love dogs and they are spoiled. Pups spend the first 6 weeks in my house and then they spend quality time in the yard exploring natures wonders. We only have a few litters per year as we pair breeding's for potential show quality dogs. Did I mention I love to show my dogs! Because our pet pups go quickly we accept pre-deposits (pre-deposits can be refunded if the next available litter does not have a pup you are interested in). Once the pups have been evaluated we offer pet candidates. We encourage you to come by and pick a furry and then we keep you updated by sending pictures, videos and video chat anytime. Pups come with a goody bag, food, health records and lifetime support. Breeding rights are seldom offered as we are very picky, this type of pup must be high quality. We do at times have real nice young adults or retiring dogs available, let us know if you want to skip the baby stag. We would love to have you join our furry family! Give us a call!

We have a new AKC Champion in the house (pending AKC approval)
Cattle Calls Strike A Pose- Stryker.

This boy has been so much fun to show. He had a late start entering the show ring but even at 8 years old he has rocked it against the younger boys.

His final points were earned at the Idaho Capitol City Kennel Club in Boise this past weekend with some champion defeats and additional majors. We even had a run in the Owner Handler Group. For fun we tried out the Farm Dog Trials and earned a new title there as well. Such a fun weekend!

I know his breeder Gerry is looking down and smiling over him with pride. I am still trying to catch my breath.

Thank you to the club for a wonderful venue. Special thanks to our honorable judges for finding us in the line up.

Scribbles got dressed up and went to her very first dog show. She did not disappoint!

Scribbles walked out with 1st place in a lovely line up of 5 females in the 3-6 year old Bred By class.

She did everything asked of her with style. Scribbles, my black bi queen, overflows with personality and has been a true asset to my program, producing outstanding pups and mentoring many dogs. A true gem for sure!

Lets talk Underjaw and why it matters.

I think the depth of underjaw is slowly disappearing in our breed and I had a few in my crew. A wonderful mentor pointed this out during evaluations of my breeding dogs years ago. We examined a dog with a shallow underjaw. The dog had full dentition, but lower jaw presented with small shallow teeth in 305-307. She explained that in generations to come the line would start showing missing teeth. We also discussed lip lines, jowls and flew which should be straight and tight.

So now what? Easy, breed to a dog with deeper underjaw and appropriate tooth size.

Now there are a ton of things we evaluate our dogs for and counting teeth is one of them. However, the depth of underjaw was not on my radar, and lip lines...what?? It sure is on my radar now!

The hunt was on to get me some underjaw and tight lips. I have focused on adding this to my program without sacrificing in other areas. That is when I started to notice how many dogs had little to no underjaw accompanied with a very pointed nose and missing teeth.
I made some hard changes in my program. I am pleased to have some nice underjaws in my pups while maintaining full dentition with scissor bites.

What an amazing show for LongMile's Peaceful Acres Time To Razzle! Meet your Reserve Best of Breed Australian Shepherd, out of a lovely line up of 75 entries, at the 2024 ASDR Blue Mountain Barkdown!

Razzle's day started with a 1st Place in 12-18 month males. He was up against some stiff completion, including more mature males but climbed the winning ladder to Best Male. He was Reserve to our very own girl, Peaceful Acres Shake Rattle and Roll-Yahtzee.

This is Michele and Razzle's second weekend in conformation showing. They did absolutely wonderful. I was quite impressed because this pup just turned a year old.

Michele Sandgren is eager to learn the ropes and has done a great job training this pup. She has spent countless hours practicing. I am thrilled to have her as Co-owner with this amazing boy. She is giving Razzle his best life and I truly appreciate everything she does to help promote LongMile Aussies.

I am so excited to see where these two go. I really believe there is no limits to what they can accomplish!
