I'm looking for The Humane Society of Southern Arizona Supporters who would like to join my event committee! Each March, HSSA hosts an event called "March Muttness" - encouraging shelters to pair up and see who can fundraise the most. Just like March Madness, there are brackets, and folks who fundraise more move on to the next round.

The Committee I'm building is for a first-of-its-kind Kickoff Event we're currently calling the "March Muttness Tailgate" fundraiser. MMTG will likely take place at the HSSA campus during the first game of March Madness.

Suppose you're interested in helping throw an awesome party, good at soliciting donations (monetary or items/experiences for raffle), or simply want to get a little more involved in HSSA events. In that case, I encourage you to join us!

Meetings will be held once a month - usually online via Microsoft Teams. Our November Committee meeting will be held on campus so we can all meet and greet each other and discuss where pieces of the event will take place.

Our first meeting is Wednesday, Oct. 23rd from 5pm until about 6pm via Teams.

He’s 7 years old, been at the shelter for over a month, and is the sweetest most gentle guy. Curious and fun, but old enough not to be too crazy 😉. He was wonderful with every person and pet we met during our Dog of the Day adventure. What surprised me most was how gentle he was, even with meat-based treats. He was a gentleman in every way.

Please consider adding him to your family so he can have the Forever Home he deserves.

With every “Dog of the Day” (the program PACC has for folks who would like to take an adoptable dog out for a few hours or overnight - a great opportunity for the dog to get a respite from the busy shelter and just enjoy a day of calm companionship), I plan on stopping at these three incredible businesses. I encourage everyone to frequent these local folks if you’re ever in the market for incredible training or wonderful and healthy treats for your four-legged kids.

Tucson Pet Loving Community: Griffey is STILL at PACC. He’s a wonderful senior who has been in the shelter since early April. I’ve had the opportunity to meet him a couple times - had a great day out with him - met people and other pets - and he was a gentleman the whole time. He deserves a home. Anyone would be truly fortunate to have him. He’s sort of a “Pet Project” for me right now through my Grey Paws Initiative, so in hopes of getting him adopted I’d like to offer a FREE YEAR’S SUPPLY of Turmeric Plus to whoever adopts him. Since he’s a bit older this will help him if/when he starts feeling the aches and pains that come with aging.

Please consider meeting sweet Griffey. Take him out for a play date. Foster for a few days. It won’t take long before you’re in love.
