With the upcoming 4th of July holiday only a few days away, we're sharing our yearly advice for how to help keep your pets calm and safe during fireworks season.
๐กCreate a Safe Space- keep your pet inside during 4th of July festivities, with the A/C on, tucked away in a safe, familiar room, or in their crate with a blanket or toy.
๐ฅฑ Tire Them Out- if it's cool enough, take your pet out for a walk earlier in the day or play fetch to tire them out.
๐ฆด Distract Their Attention- give your pet a new treat or toy to focus on something other than the outside booms and bangs.
๐ง Drown Out the Noise- turn on the TV or music and close windows, blinds, curtains, and doors to muffle outside noises.
๐ Use Pet-Calming Products/Medications- use calming products like Thundershirts, calming spray/collars, or check with your veterinarian about products and medications that can help with your pet's fireworks anxiety.
