First Friday ArtWalk November 4, 2022 Downtown Elizabeth City.
Every First Friday of the month many art studios and businesses in downtown Elizabeth City are open from 4:00 pm until 7:00 PMish for our First Friday ArtWalk! Guest artists along with food and music abound as businesses remain open later and the downtown streets come to life. Come down to see all of our local creativity; stay to dine or sip at one of our 19 independently-owned pubs, coffee shops, and restaurant options downtown.
For more information about First Friday ArtWalk call 252-338-4104 or email [email protected].
Thirty-eight (38) is the magic number of participants for the November 4th First Friday ArtWalk. We have two new participating locations, one “Downtowniversary” celebration, and one business relocation unveiling. As consistent as First Friday ArtWalks are when it comes to the many art and music experiences, there’s always something new and unique at each one. For example, this is the first ArtWalk with a former Apollo Theater performer who has the ability to play the guitar with his teeth (where ya ever gonna see THAT again?) – the infamous EZ Malone! Water Street Real Estate Group will be celebrating their fourth “Downtowniversary,” and InStitches will be celebrating their new Main Street location. The College of the Albemarle Ceramics program is partnering with Muddy Waters Coffee for a great show and sale of unique and hand-made ceramics and pottery pieces. Per the norm, lots of handmade jewelry, art, ornaments, décor, soaps, candles, photography, fiber art, and live music options. Local artist Lynn Nash will return to ArtWalk with a showing at the Trimpi & Nash Law Office. There’s even a “garage locale” on Fearing Street with multiple artists.
As we enter the weekend of Daylight Savings Time when we “fall back” and gain an extra hour, but the nights arrive earlier, lets enjoy one last First Friday of sunlit late evening “ArtWalking.”

A few tips for getting the most out of Art Walk:
• Make a special effort to visit those businesses on the side streets, around the corners, and maybe a few extra steps up the road.
• Start at any point but follow the recommended route. It is designed to help you flow easily from one location to the other. Be sure to visit the businesses not on the “main drag.” They often have unique items, experiences and artists that you don’t want to miss. Please take a moment to visit them and show some love. If you follow the recommended route, you should have plenty of time to visit all the locations.
• Save the stops where you know you’ll spend more time for last (so you don’t run out of time to visit the others).
