As our last classes are wrapping up this month, we will be saying goodbye to so many clients, many of whom have become friends as well. I have so much gratitude for each and every one of you who have supported us over the years. There really are no proper words, but I want to take a moment to say THANK YOU ALL! I have learned much from you and your dogs. Your support truly means more to me than I could ever say.

Hi. It’s me, Juniper. Today was a big day. I had surgery to repair my six fractures.. I was nervous, but the humans caring for me kept telling me everything would be okay. Aren’t they so nice? It was raining and they didn’t even mind getting wet while carrying me to the car and into the vet in the pouring rain. I have these silly blue things on my legs so it really limits my mobility.. I felt bad for making them carry me, but I just got loved on and told what a good girl I am! I just adore them.

My surgery went well. It was a long, but successful procedure. I am also thankful for the doctors and staff that have assisted in my care. I can’t believe so many people care about me! I really thought I was worthless after being hit by a car and left on the side of the road. I must be special after all.

The humans overseeing my care will have a more detailed report tomorrow, but they know I have a long road to recovery ahead. They’ve mentioned me needing a “foster home”.. I’m not quite sure what that means. I really love these people, but they’ve told me I need somewhere that I can be given undivided attention and a calm, quiet space to recover. I don’t think I’m going to be able to use my legs for some time, so they also recommend that this home have a strong human that can pick me up to move me from place to place.

All of this is very intimidating to a young dog like me. I want to get better so that I can play and do normal dog things. I need a human with confidence and patience that can teach me to love myself and to trust others again. I know deep down that I am worthy of love and never asked to be in the predicament I’m in. I need a human that can prove this to me and make me believe in myself again.

I guess what I am trying to ask is.. would anyone be willing to put in the time and effort to help me heal? I’ll need a calm and quiet environment with little stimuli as my mobility will be limited for the first little bit. I will need a human capable of picking me up to help clean my resting area, go potty, reposition, etc. All supplies needed to care for me will be provided and the team is incredibly accommodating should I need anything additional. They promise to check in regularly and to work together to get me playing again! I’ll have some follow-up appointments that I would need my foster to help get me to as well.
