It might be Turkey day but it’s also VALOR’s 6TH BIRTHDAY 🧁🥹so we had a little PAWTY in da club 💥

I’m not sure how we got here so quickly. It seems like just yesterday she was dropped in my lap when she was 9 months old. She had 2 names before me; Margie, Willow- none of which she answered to. For 3 days I called her by that name and she never responded. So I needed a special name for her, something with meaning behind it. Because her story has still yet to be told, but I knew she would do HUGE things, and that’s how VALOR became who she is today.

VALOR ; Great courage in the face of danger 😍

When I tell you her name couldn’t be more fitting, I said it one time and she turned and came to me. She too knew she was destined for this amazing life. We fought many huge battles together and today we’re still wining 🏆🙌🏻🤭

Happy 6th Birthday VALOR 🖤my ride or die, my partner, my sanity, my love, my everything. I could never repay you for all you have given me. I love you more than life itself.

ROCCO🤎 aka Convict - 5.5yr old bully x pit mix. Currently enrolled in our 6 week bootcamp program. This dude has been through the wringer really. He was institutionalized pretty much his entire life. Lived in the Dauphin Co prison, failed out of the hope dog program, flopped around a bit and then found his forever Mama’s, who are both part of our blue line family 💙🚓😍 and hugely invested in this dudes future and full potential. We didn’t lie to them, he’s a tough dog. He’s notorious for coming up the leash and doing damage. But he’s charmer, a bull in a china shop, the best shot gun rider, and a chicken 😂(yes he’s agile AF, and decided to place himself in the new chicken coops roosting boxes 🤪) We’re having so much fun with him, he’s definitely keeping me on my toes.

CHUNKE 💙 - GSD aka ChunkaMunk, OG, here for some refresher training while his mama enjoys some moutian time. He’s enjoying all the extra wookies 🍪

OLIVER 🩶 - Weimaraner, OG, also here for a refresher while his owners enjoy some sunshine ☀️ and he gets some extra wookies too 🍪

Fk’n crazy right? I would have never guessed boxer, APBT or Akita. My vote was Kelpie, GSD, cattle dog. Genetics really intrigue me. So wild!

Every. Single. Day.

The same two questions I ask myself.

Please know, I would NEVER do this to a dog or chicken.

Every dog that has been introduced to our flock, most don’t even require a correction. A few are curious, others are scared, and a few might need a quick “off” verbal command.

I can’t actually believe this is real life. People still really be doing this kind of nonsense?

Just know, no chickens have been killed by any dogs here, and no dogs have been beaten with dead chickens.

That’s enough interweb for me today.

“Positive only” = a play on words and a brilliant marketing scheme.

The moment you place a collar and leash on a dog it is no longer “positive only”.

Medicating dogs for behavioral issues is not “positive only”, nor will it ever address the root of the problem or train that dog.

This nonsensical rhetoric is doing more harm to dogs than any training tool ever has, including that “gentle leader & harness” that is your tell all, end all.

Online certificate scams are a real problem in the dog industry. Anyone can become a “certified trainer” seemingly overnight just by simply taking an online course, without ever having touched a single dog.

That IS a huge problem, and quite literally sickening.

If someone says they are certified, you should really know what that means before you even consider hiring….

Education is key. Never stop learning and don’t be bound by the grips of this kind of mentality. It actually kills dogs. 🙄🤯

Putting a dog down and condemning them to death because you refuse to use any method that isn't "positive only" isn't very positive...

Sedating a dog into a zombie because you don't like other training tools isn't very positive...

Restricting a dog to a confined life without the chance to thrive isn't very positive...

Telling someone to put down their 8 month old working line dog for having lots of energy and acting like an 8-month-old working dog isn't very positive...

Guilting a young family that lives in an apartment into adopting a large dog with behavior issues isn't very positive...

Telling an older lady their dog would be better off dead then using a prong collar that helps her walk and control her dog isn't very positive....

Bashing other trainers because they don't train dogs using only one method isn't very positive...

Having an owner put a 5 month old puppy on 400mg of trazadone isn't very positive...

Harming dogs because of your own ego isn't very positive...

All of the things I just listed are REAL things that owners have dealt with by "certified positive only trainers and behaviorists."

Anyone can be certified online for $50. It means nothing.

Dogs and their humans deserve real trainers who care and emphasize for both ends of the leash. Trainers who will tailor training to each dog in front of them. Don't be fooled by the "positive" sounding approach. That's just fancy marketing from people who care more about their ego and lining their pockets rather than helping the dog community.

I've chosen to speak out on this because I care and hate seeing dogs harmed. The positive only cult is doing more harm than good to dogs. Dogs and owners that are already having a difficult time. Enough is enough.

I have to laugh when our OGs return, and their owners say “what about the chickens” 🤪 you sure the dogs will be ok with them? Naturally I laugh and say “Did you forget who trained them?” Then we all laugh, and I get to send them updates like this!

Morning Pack peeps!

We’re looking for a couple estimates from local, legitimate, fully insured, and licensed contractors/businesses that you have used previously without issues. We will ask for you to provide your credentials. Sorry we’ve been burned one to many times.

We need at least two estimates from each tradesmen/tradeswomen please!

•Expoxy flooring/repairs (indoor/outdoor)
•Concrete flooring/repairs (indoor)
•Painting repairs (interior and exterior)

These services are for our newly constructed 24 x 24 kennel building.

Any recommendations would be highly appreciated.
