As breeders, we often face the difficult decision of choosing which horses to keep and which to offer to new homes. Currently, my barn is full of promising young horses, but time is limited. This has led me to the decision to offer Al Fakhour RZ, "Forest," for sale for a very limited time. He has a scheduled appointment in mid-September to be gelded. After that, he’ll be taken off the market, started under saddle, and added to our show string.

Forest is a stunning 3-year-old straight Egyptian stallion prospect, standing at 15.2 hands with excellent substance. He has already earned an East Coast Championship and two Sport Horse National Top Tens in Sport Horse In-Hand. He is Breeders Sweepstakes nominated, with a loving, sweet personality and a strong work ethic. I believe he has incredible potential as a western dressage or working ranch horse.

Forest is sired by the impressive Kisra Djamel Sinan (Ansata Sinan Pasha x Kisra Bint Dafina), who consistently produces size and temperament in his offspring.

His dam, Desired Millicent (Desperados Getaway x Menouthis), is a cherished member of our program and has consistently produced outstanding foals, including our herd sire, Waheed Al Azhaar RZ, and Forest's full sister, the renowned "Spicy."

Forest has tested clear for CA, LFS, OAAM, and SICD and is heterozygous for gray. Please message me for additional details.

Fletcher RZ
2024 Oldenburg C**t
Finery x Passion (Pablito)

Fletcher had a big day out at his inspection. This c**t is not only a great mover, but excellent minded. He took the entire day in stride and was so laid back, he was reluctant to get up from his nap so just laid in my lap until he got further encouragement. Someone better sn**ch him up before he completely steals my heart!! He will be an amateur’s dream.

Winston RZ had a successful outing at the East Coast Championships. It was his first time off the farm solo and only his second show! He rose to the occasion earning an East Coast Championship in the 2YO SHIH Hunter Type HA Geldings and a Reserve in the 2YO SHIH Dressage Type HA Geldings, handled by his ammy owner!

Winston RZ is sired by our own Straight Egyptian Arabian stallion, Waheed Al Azhaar RZ, and out of our premium Oldenburg mare, Passion.

It's time to formally introduce our newest arrival, Fletcher RZ. Fletcher RZ arrived mid-June, but we just got around to getting his formal photos from Jennifer MacNeill Photography.

Fletcher RZ is sired by Finery, who is sired by the famed Furstenball and out of a Diamond Hit daughter. Finery was named the Champion Stallion and Reserve Grand Champion at the 2016 Dressage at Devon. He completed his 30 day stallion test in Germany with a Dressage index of 8.3 and received a 9.5 on character. He is currently competing at PSG and recently won at the Region 4 Championships. Finery's offspring are known for their amateur friendly disposition and are beginning to make their way into the show ring under saddle.

Our last Finery c**t, many may remember, was Finneas RZ. He is currently being enjoyed by his amateur owner who can ride him ba****ck with a halter. As a youngster Finneas RZ was named a premium foal at his Oldenburg inspection and also won site champion c**t, Finneas RZ went on to win the Oldenburg class at Dressage at Devon. As a yearling, Finneas RZ earned a Reserve Championship at Sport Horse Nationals and placed well again at Dressage at Devon.

Fletcher RZ's dam is the Premium Oldenburg mare, Passion, sired by Pablito (Pablo) and out of the Oldenburg mare, Corina, sired by the approved Holsteiner stallion, Cor Noir (Cor De La Bryere). Passion holds the record for receiving perfect 10's for her free jumping in her mare performance test. Her last foal for us was also awarded premium status and won site champion c**t at his inspection.

Fletcher RZ is already demonstrating the lovable and willing disposition that so many Finery foals have. He is curious and comes willingly for scratches. In addition to his sweet demeaner, he is showing that he will be an exciting athlete to develop in the coming years. Inquiries are invited on this lovely c**t.

A little flash back Friday memory, my heart, the late, great Amer Azhaar. Amer Azhaar was bred by Yorklyn Arabians. He was sired by the phenomenal Laheeb Al Nasser and out of the treasure of a mare, Dorian Binthadidi.

There was so much greatness in Azhaar. Tragically he left us far too young, but left us a gift in his son, Waheed Al Azhaar RZ. This was one of my favorite photos of him taken by Jennifer MacNeill Photography, at just three years old he demonstrated such athletic ability. Hard to believe he's been gone 10 years, it really still feels like yesterday 💔

This sweet, inquisitive and BIG Arabian/Oldenburg 2YO gelding is looking for a person to call his own.

Winston RZ is currently standing at 15.2H and still growing, he is going to be a very large bodied boy, resembling his dam. Winston is Arabian Breeders Sweepstakes nominated. He was named a premium foal at his ISR/OldNA inspection and was named site champion c**t. As a yearling he earned a SHN Top Ten at his first show.

Winston RZ is sired by the ISR/OldNA approved stallion, Waheed Al Azhaar RZ, who is consistently siring great moving offspring. Winston’s dam is the premium Oldenburg mare, Passion, who received a remarkable set of perfect 10s for free jumping at her mare performance test.

Winston’s athleticism leaves the door wide open for his future success. Included with his purchase will be his entry fee and stall fee to either Arabian Sport Horse Nationals or Dressage at Devon for 2024. Contact us today to meet your new equine partner.

Mares serve as the cornerstone to any successful breeding program. One is always told to obtain the best mare they can when envisioning their future foals.

Desired Millicent, Milly as we affectionately know her, came into my life as a happy accident. I had recently leased a stallion and only had one mare at the time. I wanted to have another mare to use him on so I could see his worth as a sire before making the purchase. I was fortunate enough to connect with Kendra from 5 Wells Farm and as they say the rest is history! I agreed to lease Milly based on some old photos and a brief video. I had not done my homework as well as I probably should have, but the mare was good bodied and a big mover, so I figured it was worth a shot.

That 'shot' turned out to be one of the most pivotal decisions in my breeding program to date. Milly has produced one knock out foal after another for us.

Her first foal, by Amer Azhaar, would become our herd sire after the untimely passing of his sire. Waheed Al Azhaar RZ has not disappointed, his foals have all done exceptionally well in hand and are now coming of age to be started under saddle. He's produced movement, size and beauty. While not the plan we had, he has certainly been a worthy representation of his sire's legacy.

After her first foal was born, it was agreed that Milly could stay here longer and I opted to try my first Warmblood cross. Another knockout with accomplishments I could not have expected. Finneas RZ, sired by Finery, earned a premium designation at his Oldenburg inspection, as a foal he won the Oldenburg NA IBC at Dressage at Devon, as a yearling he was Reserve National Champion C**t/Gelding and followed that up by placing in the middle of some very talented youngsters at Dressage at Devon. He is currently under saddle and being thoroughly enjoyed and loved by his current owner.

In between that time, I officially acquired Milly and knew she'd continue to be one of the cornerstones of my breeding program. It was then time to set out to create a replacement for her. She was bred to the stunning Kisra Djamel Sinan and while she did not produce a filly, her c**t, Al Fakhour RZ, again has proven why Milly is just a standout producer and an all around amazing mare. Al Fakhour RZ is HUGE, beautiful and as a 2YO earned a Sport Horse National Top Ten in hand. When Al Fakhour was born, Milly got deathly ill a few days later, she ended up spending nearly two months at New Bolton, all the while caring for her c**t who never showed any signs of distress or struggle despite Milly's own fight for her life.

Miraculously she recovered from her illness and has bounced back well. As a matter of extreme caution, we opted to ET her next foal and we finally got our filly, the stunning Sayyidah RZ. Sayyidah RZ is also by Kisra Djamel Sinan, and shares her brother's size, she's a stunning filly and has her mother's strong presence and demeanor.

Jennifer MacNeill Photography was at the farm last week shooting some photos of other horses, but took a few minutes to snap some candid shots of Milly out in the pasture, not clipped, bathed or even brushed! These photos really reminded me how blessed I am to have such a stunning representation of the Straight Egyptian in my herd. Milly is 17 this year, which seems to have happened over night! I am hopeful that she will bless us with a few more offspring

We are expecting something a little different this year at Roze Arabians, our only foal due will be an Oldenburg (sexed filly!) by Finery and out of our mare Passion.

We were very impressed with our last Finery foal and with Passion's advanced age, we thought a replacement for her was in order. Our vets tell us we got what we ordered, we have about a month to go to see if they were right!!

To my fellow AHA members: I want to address the Arabian Horse Promotional Fund, Lisa Blackstone, Mary Trowbridge, Ralph W. Manning and Ray LaCroix without continuing to hijack Ray's thread.

I was finally provided a link to some videos and additional information that was printed regarding the Fund's intentions and it also highlights some of the overlap between the current AHA leadership and those behind the Fund's movement. I'm not sure why this hasn't been shared more widely, but here it is, I hope you will take a moment and familiarize yourself with it:

https://arabianhorsepromotionalfund.com/arabian-promotional-fund/forward-to-the-future/?fbclid=IwAR3qjVDVEdcJozlOv_iOC_8wTvwp4qc7JCAFbUcoU7GQphq9dEVf1xnq2ss_aem_AWFiC1b5YYyRkU-ohR2GsrolbzMNE85R1HlQsCvC7kE-NRHFtuKpL6-VMbMU4O5P-2PnTqQ4Cbfi_FMal5CcJxlm

I personally think its important that this discussion is brought more to the forefront with Arabian Horse Association members. There is still a veil of secrecy behind this group and their full intentions. While I think every AHA member agrees that change is necessary, I have many concerns and questions that have yet to be answered. I'm going to summarize it here so the discussion is transparent and I hope that those involved can provide some clear enlightenment. This group should be able answer these questions directly and concisely if there is truly no back handed power grab going on.

These are in no particular order.

1. There was a meeting of 60 industry 'insiders' that seemed to start this ball rolling, we have yet to be told who those people were and the criteria for who was invited and why. I have been an AHA member since 2002, I breed and show. I know there are others who are heavily involved, breed and show more than I do and none of them were invited or knew about this meeting.

2. Why is the Fund spearheading this while soliciting donations and membership to its own organization. A restructuring of one organization should not be done by another, particularly one that shares board members, Peter Conway and Lisa Blackstone. If the Fund directors want to change AHA, they should be doing it in the capacity of AHA directors and not Fund directors, this is already a big red flag. The Fund on its own page states that it is a completely separate entity and exits to only promote the Arabian horse, this whole directive to make changes to AHA seems to contradict the Funds own mission statement.
I'm not a legal expert, but the alarms are ringing on this one. While everyone's intentions may be entirely pure, the movement to address AHA's issues should not be overlapped with anything the Fund is doing, particularly when every page on the Fund's website wants you to join and donate.

Conway and Blackstone should immediately step down from AHA's Board as they are already sidestepping AHA's process to make changes and drumming up their own. Again while no one is going to deny changes are needed, it should be done cleanly and transparently, clearly the waters are quite murky at the moment.

3. The 2/5/24 Board Meeting Minutes from AHA show that a closed session was held by AHA's Board to discuss communication from the Fund, what were those communications and why were such communications hidden from members. Again highlighting that two AHA Board members are also Fund Board members. I see the March meeting minutes have not been posted, where I hear there was additional comments on this 'movement'. The Fund as I understand it should not have anything to do with AHA that should not be made public to AHA's membership.

4. The Fund's proposed board structure while at face value seems to include members with votes, it does not do away with the antiquated delegate system. It seems to allow the current delegate system to approve the new system, so you're letting what many see as a large problem to AHA's current governance, create its new one.

The current delegate system implements rules and changes to portions of the rules that the delegates may or may not know about, several changes to sport horse come to mind, where even against the advice the sport horse committees, the delegates still voted to implement rules the committees did not recommend.

The proposed 13 member executive board still gives power to the board and not to its members, with 8 seats approved by delegates and PAT and only 5 seats approved by membership. The numbers should be reversed. Its a farce to allow members to vote in 5 seats, as 8 seats are appointment by same old powers that be.

5. Finally and most concerning is the push for the Board to have the power to modify resolutions without a vote or process. Their claims that it should only be done to modify resolutions that threaten the welfare of the horse, the best interests of our members, the integrity of the sport or implantation of the strategic plan...when I read that I can think of a way to twist any resolution to fit into one of those categories. Does anyone follow politics, how often has a presidential executive order been used in recent years (by both political parties) to implement changes to our laws by skirting the process we have of going through the Senate and House. I see sweeping measures by whomever would be at the helm of AHA to make any changes they see fit. This creates a lot of turbulence in an organization and gives a great amount of power to whomever holds the pen and completely eliminates the voice of the membership, even in its current form. There has to be better safeguards in place.

I want to summarize that I am fully in support of an overhaul of AHA, but again it feels like the few are making rules for the many. I see the campaigns already starting for who is being pushed for on the new Board. I see lots of conflicting interests and once again AHA trying to sweep some of this quietly behind curtains. There are many AHA members who don't show, who are not routinely on social media and who are not carefully watching, who is letting them know about what's going on?

I'll state with 100% certainty that I don't want to be on any Board, so my interest in the changes does not come from any desire to hold power. I like many have a real passion and vested interest in this breed and I see it from a different angle then many with my involvement in activities far removed from breed shows. I like many, fell in love with the breed because of its athleticism and versatility and stay involved because there is nothing like the love and dedication of an Arabian horse as an athletic partner, this is what needs promoted and shown to the world.

My ongoing concern is that those involved in the Fund and many currently in AHA have been stuck on a one track path, still seemingly grasping at the glory from the bygone error of the 80s. Those involved have had plenty of platforms to influence change in the past and have not...how is this time any different? That's where it looks like a power grab or as Lisa refenced in her video a cue. I share my thoughts, because I know I'm not the only one and I hope that more AHA members will get involved in this discussion and movement so that we don't end up in the same or bigger hole.

Being a horse breeder takes a VERY long term vision, lots of resources and a fair amount of luck.

My first foray into Straight Egyptians was admiring Imperial Egyptian Stud's program, finding the incredible Imperial Baarez and watching him under saddle was life changing as it set the compass for the type of horse I wanted to produce. Unfortunately, as I was getting into the business, Imperial was getting out. I still have a photo of Imperial Baarez taken by Jarvan hanging in my office as inspiration. It would be over a decade before the dream of having a piece of Imperial Baarez in my breeding program would be attainable. I welcomed Imperial Karismah a couple of years ago and unfortunately she has had some health struggles so we have not been fortunate enough to have a foal from her. I have now turned to the amazing advances in medical science to secure her genetics in my program for the future.

Before I ever purchased my first Straight Egyptian I had the fortunate opportunity to travel to Texas and visit Arabians Ltd. and to view in person many of the notable stallions from their program. As luck would have it, Mishaal HP had just arrived to the US and I was able to see him in the flesh. Another well built, great moving stallion that passed those characteristics consistently onto his get. Mishaal HP also met an untimely end before my ability to utilize him.

When I made a plea a couple of weeks ago that I was still looking for the right match for my Baarez daughter, Tiffany Cook was kind enough to answer the call and on short notice got frozen semen from Mishaal HP delivered to my vet for Imperial Karismah's scheduled appointment. Today, I'm thrilled to announce that I have several frozen embryos from this cross, securing genetics for future generations of my breeding program. A very long term vision from two great programs will hopefully have another chapter.

There are still many steps ahead, but I am hopeful and reenergized for the future of the Straight Egyptian horse, as my goal is to make beautiful, great minded and amazing athletes! A very heartfelt thank you goes out to Tiffany and the Rock Creek Arabians team for their assistance in making this happen. Please keep sending a little luck our way as we move this dream forward.🍀

Offered for your consideration:

Passion, a 2003 Premium Oldenburg mare, sired by the Elite Hanoverian stallion, Pablito (Pablo) and out of the Oldenburg mare, Corina, sired by the approved Holsteiner stallion, Cor Noir (Cor De La Bryere).

Passion is a premium mare and holds the record for receiving a score of all 10’s for her free jumping from all of the judges at her mare performance test with Oldenburg NA. She has produced one foal for us, who went premium at his inspection and was named site champion c**t.

Passion stands 16.1H, she’s very sweet and was a great mother, no health issues, prefers to have front shoes with pads, but otherwise has not required any maintenance. She up to date on all vaccines, deworming, etc. She is only offered because there are not enough hours in the day for me with the number of horses that I have and I know her bloodlines are worth using.

Passion is currently in foal to Finery for an end of May delivery. She can be purchased with or without her 2024 foal. If you purchase without her foal, we will be happy to assist with getting her in foal to a stallion of your choice.
