Y’all. This darling boy ❤️

Adoptable Beau has been overlooked for a ridiculously long time. Why?

Maybe people pass by and think he’s too handsome or too muscular. We can’t help their insecurities - but geez can you fault a guy for being gorgeous and cut like a diamond?

Beau caught the eye of our amazing volunteer who decided that maybe we just need to know more about this guy to get his family to find him already.

Here’s what Beau’s volunteer friend said about their date:

Beau was a super fun guy to take out on a field trip. Initially, his tough exterior and exuberance can be a tad intimidating, but he really is a compact little love bug. He is just feeling a bit stressed living the shelter life for so long. Once we got on the trails he was pretty easy to walk, but he can pull when he sees something like a squirrel or water so you gotta be ready.
He loves water! I have a feeling he would have swam out in the lake today if I had let him but he might sink because he’s solid muscle!
He LOVES treats and knows sit. Highly treat motivated. We walked nearly 4 miles and then headed for a little ice cream treat. He seems to really like ice cream but he’s not into savoring it.
We stopped at the Christmas tree at Severn’s Valley for some photos. Thank you to the nice man who let me interrupt his mowing for a photo session. He is such a sweet boy and I hope he gets his own family soon!

Here’s the thing… adoptable Beau is a muscular pit with good looks and a deceptively tough exterior. He’s actually a big ol’ pile of mush surrounded by a six pack who wants nothing more than to cuddle.

Who on earth could want more than that?

We love these photos of Adoptable Beau enjoying his freedom today on his day out with a volunteer friend. You can feel this sweet boy’s happiness radiating for miles. This kind of goodness could be yours all day every day for his forever.

Look who is getting busted out of the shelter for the day! Adoptable Beau is so excited to be heading out on this beautiful day for an outing with an awesome volunteer.
Beau has spent far too long in the shelter, here’s hoping we can get this guy adopted. Stay tuned for photos from today.

It’s National Animal Shelter Appreciation week - but honestly every week should be.

These folks do jobs most of us can’t imagine and they do it because they love the animals in their care. They also put up with the *occasional* cranky human.

We admire them for being on the front lines of animal welfare and for working tirelessly for our community’s homeless and unwanted animals.

Saturday was an absolutely fantastic day for Paws & Boots! We had 34 soldiers report for duty on a beautiful fall day, so every available dog got an hour plus walk.

Plus, an extra huge thank you and shout out to our three soldiers who handled dogs at our Flywheel fundraising event. They were our lucky charms: all three dogs were adopted!

There are good days and there are really really good days. Today was so. good.

All three of the adoptables at Flywheel were adopted - not just adopted, but adopted by homes that were looking specifically for them and homes that are dedicated shelter supporters.

Goodness, guys, it doesn’t get much better than this.

We are so excited for your forevers sweet babies ❤️
